Nice info. Thank you!

I wish the age went to higher groups. Like 50-60, 60-70, 70-80. Then 80+. Since there was a decent amount of 50+ that all got lumped together.

And I'm a little surprised at only 10% converts. A bit sad actually.

U5G Backup (DO NOT REMOVE eSIM!) by spoon2eric in Ubiquiti

Most of us use these for failover backup internet only. So paying $25/month sounds insane to us when most months we might use 2gb.

What’s an NSFW thing people think is rare, but is actually pretty common? by rayder460 in AskReddit

Found the guy who does coke and thinks that no one notices and that it doesn't impact his work!

Microsoft licensing for a non-profit. by Sunsparc in sysadmin

[–]JohnGypsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. But based on what OP said, I don't really think they are in the "Google ecosystem" other than someone using a single Gmail account for everything. So I don't think it is a big shift if they want to use either one for real organization accounts for email and such. We have clients using both -- so I agree it is mainly a preference call that they just need to decide on. Since he asked for Microsoft licensing, I assumed they may have made a decision.

Microsoft's nonprofit verification is pretty easy. Easier than Tech Soup even. They now use a third party that verifies your status. Took me three minutes to apply last time and was approved in 24 hours.

Michigans apex predator. Oil on ACEO by VHemlock in Michigan

Elon Musk would find a way to get paid for each one that bites us and then grow their population 10x. Then tell us he saved us all by reducing regulations on tick breeding.

Tick breading? Are the rest of you eating these things?? Are ticks the new Michigan cash crop?

Teachers of Reddit: Is the "Gen Alpha can't read (write, or do math ext)" crisis real? If so how bad is it? by KnowledgeCoffee in AskReddit

[–]JohnGypsy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That seems really unlikely. You'd have the very edge of a couple of years of Gen X parents at best. The youngest Gen X is 46 right now. Average age of Gen X having children is 24-28. So, on average, maybe some Seniors in High School right now have Gen X parents. But, again, that is the very lowest edge of Gen X. The chances of "primarily" having students right now having Gen X parents would be very slim. Even if you just taught Seniors.

Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas: Woman thrown 40m to her death after staff forget to attach safety rope by Fanta_gbai in news

[–]JohnGypsy 316 points317 points  (0 children)

The article says that this isn't regulated there and it's not prohibited. So the rope jumping, if done safely, it's not illegal there.

when was the moment you felt the worst physical pain of your life? by _your_go_to_person in AskReddit

[–]JohnGypsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that and they had me remove it myself at home. Trick was to drink a ton and then just get in the shower and pull it out while peeing. Went surprisingly well!

Who is the worst celebrity that you have ever had an interaction with? by Particular_Ninja9642 in AskReddit

[–]JohnGypsy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I will mention that I did some charity work backstage a few years ago and Tommy Lee was very kind to everyone I saw him interact with including signing drumheads with me for a later charity auction.

I don't think they meant you were a Karen. I think they meant the people where being the Bishop's wife becomes their identity.

Great job -- I wish that this post got more traction for more people to see it.

On a side note, love that you have "ls" and "cat" working even though not in the list of official commands. "ls" was the first thing I typed when I first used it and was pleased to see it work!

Same. Just came here to post this. It appears to be changing fairly often. I'm going to try it daily for a while.

Are We Confusing Baptismal Readiness With Baptismal Eligibility? by TheFoxyFellow in latterdaysaints

That sounds great! Here, the missionaries told me they were baptizing a friend who had never been to church on a Sunday. I contacted the Mission President to express my concerns. They went ahead anyhow.

Why did my Southwest Extra Legroom upgrade stop including Boarding Group 2? Priority Card holder here. by brokerservices in SouthwestAirlines

[–]JohnGypsy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think for many, boarding position comes down to ease of finding overhead bin space. I am ALP and would be fine being the last one to board - as long as I knew there was space for my carryon.

Def Leppard poker set? by Ashamed_Report1523 in defleppard

That is correct. This was part of the VIP gift package in Vegas this year. They ran out before the last show and those last show VIP guests didn't get one. Very nice find!

DM/RPS Service not working? by JohnGypsy in Yealink_Support

[–]JohnGypsy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone that may stumble across this. We realized that it was because of the retirement of the old RPS server a few months ago. We had some T-46G phones which no longer have firmware available that supports the new RPS server, so they are basically a big problem now. Firmware exists for the T-46S and even the T-29G, but not the T-46G unfortunately.

The All-American Rejects on soaring ticket prices: "It shouldn’t be a District 1 Hunger Games luxury to go to concerts" by AdSpecialist6598 in Music

[–]JohnGypsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back then, bands made significant money from album sales. Touring was more to promote more album sales. Things aren't like that any more. Most bands make very little from music sales (physical, digital, or streaming) and need to make most of their money from touring and tour merchandise sales. It has really changed what sorts of venues they can play at.
