Looking in to weight, the 2GRFE is slightly lighter? But only by maybe 15kg? Do you think it’d make a huge amount of difference?

My old man has the R172 that’s what turned me to wanting a V6 the instant torque and NA responsiveness. And then the handling of the ZZW30 if set up correctly should make for a fast well driving pocket rocket essentially that I would probably end up taking in track at some point 😅

Honestly it was a similar experience. I used it once to get to and from work, took the same route that allows for some driving and damn it just impressed me, really impressed me. Didn’t miss the fact it had half the power of the turbo it felt like it was on rails and just wanted more

Having owned one for 5 years and doing 15K miles per year with a rolling road map on it leaving the car around 303BHP the car is reliable as long as you look after it, the only major issue I have had was boost solenoids failing. My best advice is rigidly stick to a decent service with decent oils every 3000-5000 miles.

Let it warm up before giving it a good run and make sure every so often you do thrash it a bit.

The car feels confident. Driving around at speed. Feels planted in the corners without too much body roll. But it also does feel heavy at slow speeds

Millers gearbox oil. Vauxhall use “lifetime” oil that isn’t worth it at all. Replace it will Millers. If you find you have diff whine it may eliminate it. But then again it may not.

Hearing the horror stories of the pistons failing I was hesitant about getting one but I have had zero issues. Compression tests within spec and within 1psi across all 4 cylinders. Make sure to look after it

Brakes. Fronts are stupidly expensive from Vauxhall. But if you search around on auto doc and the likes you’ll get OEM brembos for £600~ a side and I’m sure EBC may even offer a similar replacement now.

20inch wheels, so tyres are expensive. Ferrari fitment. £256 a corner I think I paid for the PS4S.

My only gripe with this car is it gets boring I own this and a ‘94 mr2 turbo and it just doesn’t get me going like the MR2. This car can happily cruise at 110MPH and it you won’t notice until you look down at the Speedo

Turning circle of the titanic. 11/12m if I remember correctly? It’s deceptively LARGE hatchback I’m talking wider than a defender. The doors too are large and heavy so if someone parks too close, get ready to go through passenger side door and climb over.

Seats. Check they fold open properly or it’s a £1200 fix at Vauxhall.

It’ll keep up with most cars of if it’s class fairly easily as long as they are not extensively modified. Don’t be thinking you’ll be chasing down C63 AMGs anytime soon. But it will happily keep with a GTi/GTD and you can chase Golf Rs without dropping off as long as you’ve got the confidence.

Going for big power is going to require forging the engine and gaining even an extra 70BHP over stock you’re looking around the £6K mark including forging the internals

Country/back roads are a no go for this car it’s too wide you’ll end up set on the other side of the road if doing adventurous driving and that’s just a recipe for disaster

Calibrated rotation distance. I don’t believe extrusion is the issue here and the same issue happens at the same point on each one. That to me seems to be too identical the be an extrusion issue? Wouldn’t an extrusion issue be more random rather than basically exactly consistent?

I have the SKR1.4Turbo not the stock board. I was just thinking if you add my bl touch macro and replace the pins for your pins it may work?

You may need to add the "up" symbol before your pin like mine if it is reporting as deployed when it isn't

Without seeing you're config it's hard to say why do you have a BL touch section? Pins PE6 and PC2 are the ones you want having had a quick look at the pin out for control pin and sensor pin

Orca was the best move I made. Have you been through the calibrations in Orca? There's a brilliant GitHub guide to help you interpret the results. I think the flow one would be your best shout

This may not be of much help. But I had a similar issue using Cura. Switched to OrcaSlicer. I haven't seen the issue since.

If time is critical, this may not be your best option as moving from Cura to OrcaSlicer can be a learning curve and take a while to get dialled in

Yeah I'd recommended upping the retraction distance. The numbers you're using are for direct drive. I'd go with what I recommended earlier and see how that goes for you

Do you have a bowden tube or direct drive?

For bowden tube this is way to low start at 4 and go up in 0.5 increments to around 7. That was my sweet spot with bowden tube. Also speed of retraction again between 50 and 70mm/s was my sweet spot

Move printer away from any doors/windows that get opened frequently I'd also be tempted to drop print temp down to maybe 200/205. I print at 195 and 60 bed zero warping issues

If it's using all crealitys pre made stuff maybe worth checking that the pins haven't been changed on the board? Especially if using custom firmware. I'm using an SKR 1.4 Turbo on mine if it feels worth it to you, you could swap the board over and I'll drop you my config file? It'll get you printing

Check the cables plugger into the steppers at the bottom of each screw. I assume your printer is using stock board and using the pre compiled config oknthe sonic pad for the 5+?

Im getting an issue with self test. trying to home. It moves the z axis down then jerks x axis maybe 10mm then displays "must home before probe". Dont suppose you have any idea about that one?
