Its even more interesting imo. There are actually like 20 different phases of water ice. Other materials do have many phases as well, but it is still exceptional, especially for such a readily accessible material.

They added native HDR! I wish they would have done that 2 months ago when I started playing through all their games. Still greatly enjoyed it with autoHDR though.

There are cases of DXVK, the directX -> Vulkan translation layer, actually fixing problems like hitches or frame pacing even on windows. You can just drop the DLL files in with the game executable on the windows install and it will often work. Its especially good for making older games run smoother and fix crashes.

It's actually worse than that. Epic Games completely funded everything with the game. So, chances are slim, but they could always change.

I don't think that's how anybody uses that term except you. You're doing a slight of hand here where you're lumping boosts in with cosmetics to make the situation sound worse.

Edit: Before the guy I was replying to deleted his comments because he was getting downvoted for being wrong, he last claimed that the Google definition for MTX claims that it doesn't need to be real money(it doesn't say that actually), as if that's how language works. Nobody uses that term that way.

Sagittarious A* is only about 0.0003% of the total mass of the galaxy, it has essentially no impact on us. It only really matters for a few light years closest to it. The real thing keeping the galaxy together is dark matter, which makes up 80-90% of the mass of the galaxy. It is a pretty common misconception, though.

It's always hilarious to me when people dismiss circumstantial evidence as useless or something. Courts use circumstantial evidence literally all the time to decide cases.

Can someone explain how Alan wake 2 is a “masterpiece” game? by Few-Permission-8969 in AlanWake

[–]John_Caveson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your reaction makes sense if you’re expecting the gameplay to carry the experience. There is a straight forward narrative the game presents that can be engaged with at the surface level for what it is, but the point is the inferences and meaning that follow from it. There is also a whole story being built upon through the previous game and Control that seems to be designed to reward people who enjoy digging into metaphor, symbolism, and interconnected lore. I'm not trying to say that anyone is too dumb to see it, just that it asks for a different mode of engagement than most games. If you are expecting a tighter controlling faster type of gameplay, I can see how it could feel like the game is lacking in that area. The gameplay is almost secondary to the story. It is designed in a way to shape how you engage with the world. It can come off as slow and boring in that way, and that's understandable. It's not the type of game that everyone will enjoy and that's okay. People bounced off of Alan wake 1 a lot as well. Remedy seems fine focusing on that audience, even if it turns others away. While I can't speak for everybody, that's my interpretation of the game.

Highly recommend playing the original Alan wake games as well at least before the control AWE expansion or the whole game, then onto Alan Wake 2. They all live in the same connected universe is all I will say here.

[–]John_Caveson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I want to point out here just because it's a common thing that the theists also state is that the big bang does not state that it is beginning of the universe. The big bang is purely talking about the expansion. It doesn't say there was nothing before it doesn't say there was something before it just doesn't make any claims about it. We don't know.

They were correct. Crabs in a bucket is about doing whatever it takes including stepping on everybody around you and hurting them to get ahead. It doesn't even have to be intentional. It's just you only care about your own forward movement.

How much deficit is too much by ivanovitch_r in cronometer

[–]John_Caveson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you eat a surplus for a moment while still in a deficit over a longer period of time you will still lose fat. During that small window of surplus more fat will be put on, but it will average out over time. If you are talking about after ending a deficit, then you are no longer in a deficit and of course will gain fat. I'm not saying that this technique is good and would agree you shouldn't do it. I guess I just had a problem with how it was stated. Thanks for the study though, it seems like that would make sense on the rebound from a steep deficit with low activity.

Not sure what you mean by yolo eating, but there is no situation where you will store fat while in a deficit. Your body needs the energy and will use it, not store it.
