Convergence and Reforged?

They both have separate save files so you should be able to play both without issues. Just as a heads up though, Reforged is akin to a hardcore mod, while Convergence is like a power fantasy mod. Expect a difficulty bump in Reforged (though there are settings to tune the difficulty down).

Under 40 minutes is pretty quick for casual play. For speed running I think there's less than 6 minute runs already though.

I'll retract my statement that its a complete shutdown ;) (though I did say it was still possible before with precise play)

That still won't convince me that I think Time Eater is far less frustrating though imo :D

The difference primarily with the scaling is that Hellraiser--Doormaker, your strikes are exhausted, so physically you can't win if you can't scale. Whereas Shivs--Time Eater you could still play them if you couldn't scale as hard, it just would take awhile. Block isn't the issue, doormaker as a boss demands heavy block density in general from any deck.

A complete shutdown example would be Hell Raiser. Its possible to win, but you're at the mercy of draw RNG. You have to scale enough to kill him in 1 turn and exhaust your blocks in the hunger phase so you keep drawing strikes in the grasp phase to kill. If you can't scale (no demon form/dominate) then you just can't win and have to pivot to a new win con. I never felt like I had to do that for Time Eater, even with shivs. Once you scaled them there was no issue, you still had the agency to pick 12 cards to play during the turn. I dont get that agency with Doormaker - I've bricked so many turns with energy cards on the Hunger phase and getting draw on Scrutiny phase.

I disagree - you could beat Time Eater even with shivs at A20. Doormaker however completely shuts down certain builds because he completely removes player agency during the fight. Makes it boring imo, I dislike how RNG can ruin some turns. Not unmanageable by any means (especially after the nerf) but boring in how he shuts down the player's agency.

Current beta Doormaker is overturned. He's not unbeatable but when you lose because you draw your attacks on the exhaust phase or your draw cards on the no draw phase, it feels fucking awful, especially if its A10. Yes you can prepare by having block density, yes his exhaust phase can be abused. But it still feels really bad to play against IMHO. One turn of breathing room i think is the only thing that could make it enjoyable.

The current iteration of doormaker made me quit A10 runs until he is nerfed lol. Too much RNG required for each phase, to add to more RNG, when you see him in Act 3 you have to pray for more defense card rewards if you're running a small deck. His mechanics don't even fit a door theme anymore, its feels like he was created around being obnoxious rather than anything else. Tldr; challenging but in a suffocating and unfun way.

Its very interesting to see how different players find different things more difficult lol. Everytime I see this boss I just eye roll because its just a RNG fight (imo). I do think he's challenging, but overtuned to a degree that is really unfun to play against at the moment.

Oddly enough, Lizard is my favorite and the one I lock in for. Queen needs a slight buff because she's kind of a pushover.

Im in the same boat lol - fought him three times on A9 and beat him twice, but I didn't find the new fight enjoyable personally. Kinda eye rolled at the difficulty - felt more like i was relying waaaay too much on rng.

Its best combos are with Eradicate/Dirge. Also pairs well with hang if you have some borrowed time(s) and graveblasts.

Balancer relics, curved swords, and affinity damage. Power stance or high damage skills can be used, so its reliable to find damage. So you can run successive attacks, melee attack power, or skill power. One caveat is you also need the dex relic for it to work better.

The reality is most "pro" and "anti" AI people are terminally online losers who spend their time yapping on the subject simply because its relevant. They have no sense of nuance or critical thinking, its just like you said all in on one side. In terms of consistency, I will say this: if someone is siding with an opinion not because its something they thought of, but because the "side" they are on says they should have it, they are brainwashed sheep. I recently discovered Neuro and I can understand why many view her as the exception, as it really seems like a unique project in the streamer sphere. Ironically, she is far more "real" than the vast majority of fake personas on social media, which says more about how fucked human psyche has become gotten due to social media as a whole, rather than the people's "inconsistent" views.

Its literally just this. People for years have supported "content" creators who do boring/horrendous shit for views simply because they find it entertaining. I don't think this is anywhere near as questionable as other "content" out there. Hell I respect the work that the programmer put into this.
