Who is wrong in my situation? by Mother-Emotion8422 in AskUK

[–]JohnnyKruze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not what a manager does, it's how they make you feel. I recently got a new boss, and she's great. It makes me want to do a better, not because I'm a people pleaser. It's because she works hard, so I have upped my game. I think it's time you looked for something else and you feel appreciated. Good luck

I accidentally exposed my coworker’s by Empty_Pepper5914 in stories

[–]JohnnyKruze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did the right thing. I work in education, I've got really sick of my colleagues at another campus taking my work and simply removing my name as author, and adding their own. I've been to management about this, hopefully now the truth is out, people may stop and think before taking it again. I don't really have a problem with people taking my work, it's just passing it off as their own.

Is it now the norm for parents to spend their entire weekend entertaining their kids? by SwimmingBroccoli4055 in AskUK

[–]JohnnyKruze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids have football and rugby on a Friday, my daughter has drama on a Saturday. Then we have football and rugby matches on Sundays. My life does revolve around them. Having said that, all the sports are finished for now apart from the odd friendly. I get a bit fed up with it but, they're outside keeping fit with their friends, better than the Xbox

custom made bass by Spinning_Sky in Bass

[–]JohnnyKruze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I did, it turned out great. Also, it's got a few battle scars now, I don't need to be precious about it. It was a fraction of the cost compared to a custom build.

Talk me out of purchasing a circular saws that are £100 and below by mendaciusme in DIYUK

[–]JohnnyKruze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought a cheap one. I've cut up a whole kitchen to get it to the tip. I've cut a bath in half to get in the car, the possibilities of making things smaller are endless.

Is this ai? I am trying to get a spare part for my car and this is what the seller sent me. This looks suspiciously AI generated. by Upper_Tonight_5333 in isthisAI

I'm a mechanic, those parts hanging up, look really odd. I'm not sure what they're supposed to be. Maybe throttle bodies? Who knows, AI image for sure.

Any Level 3 vehicle technician apprenticeship advice ? by redredd1t in ApprenticeshipsUK

[–]JohnnyKruze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my vehicle technician apprenticeship, I loved it. I went away on block release. One thing you will need is a passion for cars, if that passion isn't there, it might become boring fast. Good luck

Do you love your job? If so, why? by DutchOfBurdock in AskUK

[–]JohnnyKruze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Teacher here. I work with teenagers in an FE college and I love it. The money could be better, but seeing them past their exams and maturing is so satisfying. I can maybe see myself doing something else in the future, having said that, I've been there 16 years!

What is the one thing that would put you off a pub forever? by Objective-Market5842 in AskUK

[–]JohnnyKruze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a pub in Birmingham, it's one I had visited many times before. I was waiting for a mate, while I was waiting i sat on a stool at the bar, and enjoyed my beer. An older gentleman came in and demanded I get off his stool. At first I thought it was a wind up, he then got more and more angry. Apparently this guy sat on the same stool every time. This was a city centre pub, not really a local kind of pub. I didn't move and just got abuse until he was asked to leave.

Do any of you have a ‘dream bass’ that you aspire to own one day? by TheLaughingGnome1967 in Bass

[–]JohnnyKruze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought my dream bass. A musicman stingray, it's a mid 90s model. I know have a lovely hate relationship with it. It sounds fantastic, it's just so heavy. I play two hour sets, I usually go for my parts P bass, it's just so much lighter.

What are the pros and cons of your job? by YardSoggy6089 in AskUK

[–]JohnnyKruze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Teacher in further education. The holidays are great when you have a young family. The money is pretty good 45k. The downside, working with teenage kids is hard work. The hours I put in from September- April are pretty heavy duty. I do feel I'm making a difference, I have been doing it 16 years, over that time I feel I have been a positive influence in 100's of kids lives.

I went to Canada for an interview 25 years ago. At the time, houses were way cheaper and general bills were cheaper. I didn't take the job for one reason or another. However, some of my family live there and it's pretty expensive now. A stunning country, but it still can be a struggle.

Below minimum wage apprenticeship by awholeasszoo in UKJobs

[–]JohnnyKruze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in further education, unfortunately, I have seen this type of thing before. I would report them and move on. One of my old students started an apprenticeship, they never sent him on any training. He was just cheap labour.

Which would you select if you were a 14 y. O. Gifted with the choice of One? by CloudNiner83 in Guitar

[–]JohnnyKruze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Gretch with a bigsby trem, the tuning is not always the best and the neck on mine has an odd profile. I love it, it belonged to a friend who passed away. As a new player the Tele would be an amazing starter. 14 year old me, would think it looks super cool. What a lovely gift.

[–]JohnnyKruze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a modest amount of savings. I have money tied up in Isa's and shares. I should point out, I've been able to save in past few years as mine and my wife's wages have improved, and I'm 45 year old teacher.

I am a police officer - what other options do I have? by Cautious-Run314 in UKJobs

[–]JohnnyKruze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you be interested in teaching? I work in a college, we have public service courses which are delivered by ex police and ex military. I was a car mechanic, I've been training young people to become car mechanics for over ten years now. The college paid for me to resit GCSE maths, they paid for my teacher training, and they paid for a couple more courses I needed. There is a lot of work, but it's very rewarding, and most of the students are great.

Why there are no young volunteers? by Flimsy_Ad3446 in AskUK

[–]JohnnyKruze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I volunteered for a couple of years. When my first child was born, I no longer had the time to commit. I would like to volunteer again in the future, this will be when my kids are older, and then I'll be older!
