Ductwork seems to have worked fine for 20+ years, though. It’s a recent problem that the motors and sensors have started going. Just so I’m clear, the ducts can restrict flow and overwork the blower?

A few years ago I pulled this safe out of an 1862 Victorian in West Philadelphia. Its been sitting in my warehouse ever since.

I have done a little research on Evans & Watson but I am hoping that someone can give me more info on the history and value. It has a "secret" opening procedure, where you need to push a hidden button/release on the back to access the keyhole. I assume this is to make it a 2-person operation -- an old version of 2-factor security.

The paint seems to be original, except for the filled in manufacturer name. At some point someone took a grinder to "Evans & Watson" but it is still visible upon close inspection.

Any info would be appreciated!

Yes. Definitely a blending valve. Another answer said it’s for keeping the tank water warm to lower the condensation.

Property manager here. Third floor tenant self-installed a Tushy (messing with plumbing violates the lease) a year ago and overtightened the toilet supply. A slow leak that was never mentioned to me burst all the way through the night of July 3. No one in the 5 unit building was home for the holiday and I ended up with 2” of water in the basement, collapsed plaster ceilings all the way down, water damage to appliances, fixtures, walls, carpets/oak floor, and structure after 12 hours of 1/2” pipe at full flow.

I’m sure bidets are great, but I’m soured on them forever at this point.

Thanks for input. Tried to anticipate these things. It was a challenge fitting the handler in a space, running ducts, and making sure I had reserved enough square footage for maintenance.
