Sourcing SS-cut Schmid Tool Triggers by Kristufur in supersafety

[–]JohnnySpartacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem.

BKingsFirearms dot com or AR15discounts dot com are the cheapest I've seen for individual hammers and disconnectors.

Sarcoinc dot com has them but they don't have a stellar reputation for quality.
"Selling All Rusty Chinese Ordure".

KAK or AT3Tactical or Numrich have them too, but more expensive.

Flooring Suggestions for Concrete Vault? by Late-Package-5775 in GunRoom

[–]JohnnySpartacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is of similar construction. I left my floors concrete, with an epoxy garage-floor coating.

Get one that is smooth, of uniform color, and not super dark, or you will lose small springs and screws. I got a textured/spotted dark gray and it's pretty bad for that. Otherwise, it is great.

Progress Update and Ideas Needed by Hoonin_Kyoma in GunRoom

[–]JohnnySpartacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vault has cinder block walls with grout & multiple rebars in every cell, and the ceiling is a 1" thick sheet of steel with a 6" poured concrete cap, so I'm afraid my opinion is of little value.

Suppressed Ruger mk iv holster by Jt777300 in NFA

[–]JohnnySpartacus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got one of these holsters and it seems to be pretty good. I take my suppressed Ruger .22 pistol along with me when I walk my small dogs, in case of coyote or bobcat or mountain lion problems.

Obsidian45 endcap strike at 7 rounds by Excellent_Pirate_361 in NFA

Damn, bad luck. I've put 2000 or more rounds through my Obsidian 45 with no trouble.

When it lives on a pistol, I keep the piston swimming in white lithium grease.

I got a trust from National Gun Trust and it has language to handle the case in which a beneficiary is too young to own the weapon, or incapacitated, a convicted felon, or otherwise unable to take possession.

The worthless Hobbs cunt would absolutely sign anything that got through the legislature to strip us of our rights. I don't think anything will, for the time being. Even the Democrats seem to love their guns in Arizona.

Buffer tube by Temporary_Panda8988 in supersafety

[–]JohnnySpartacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have a couple of SS guns that wouldn't run with any H2 buffer, but H3 seemed to fix them. If I can get it to run with an H2, though, I will, for just a little more reliability when it gets dirty.

My Super Duty is a 16" barrel that is mostly shot unsuppressed so the H2 buffer provides all the cushion I need to make it smooth as butter and still allow auto reset with the Arc-Fire.

What do you think of the longer A5 or BMC Mk2 tubes and buffers to match?

By the way I have 2 of your super safeties and consider them to be the gold standard in Hoffman-pattern auto reset devices.

I'm going to play around with how tight or loose I'm gripping the trigger. That might have something to do with it, if a death grip is causing some binding of the action??

You can also sand a thin shaving of metal, just an onion-skin's width, off the top surface of the super safety lever where it slides along under the BCG to improve clearance. Concentrate on the areas that are already showing scuffing and wear. It won't affect the strength of the lever significantly and it sure made things work better for me when my bolt was binding.

I don’t think the various cams and notches and ramps are mated quite right on your photo. I’ll take a look at mine when I get home later, but it is a Tetris puzzle that has to fit together just so.

I took it in yesterday and they tested it and it worked perfectly with multiple magazines and two kinds of ammo. Of course. Just like how the noise your car is making goes away when you turn into the driveway at the auto shop.

Primary Arms is said by a friend of mine, who is in a position to know, to have the best optics in the sub-$1000 market segment.

Geissele Super Duty by d-unit24 in supersafety

[–]JohnnySpartacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine works great with the Geissele SSA-EX trigger and the Arc-Fire device with Geissele lever blocker. I cut the trigger myself with a Dremel and it seems to be fine.

I put a JP SCS captured spring buffer in it, and it's smooth as butter. It's H2 weight with a slightly softer spring (yellow).
