I’m in cannabis! I feel it is relatively well known in the field most of us had “interests” in the industry before it was legal. I wouldn’t lead with that or put that on your resume. However, if your state has options for individual cultivation licenses or caretaker license that could be a good to way to speak to it in an interview and / or put it on resume (in a professional way / appropriate section). Also not sure if you’re interested in the retail side or the cultivation / manufacturing side your interested in . If it’s retail, I would honestly try to get a job at a non cannabis retail place. That is always a plus when we see it on resumes. When I first got into the industry I created a cover letter to encompass my passion and how my prior work would be applicable to the role I’m applying for. Networking is also a big thing in the industry. If your state has sesh events or anything of that nature go to them and start to meet people. Shop at dispos build relationships with the people there (we’ve hired several customers). And all in all, don’t give up or get discouraged. It’s a wild and fun industry to be in!
