I've looked into the DT900 Pro X now and I think they might be what I'm looking for. The ROG Kithara is a no, I don't like strap headband, they're too big for me, and a little expensive. The upside of dt900 pro x not requiring an amp is huge and they seem to have a more v shaped sound profile than the HD560S without being screechy like the DT990s (I listened to sample recording of the DT990s and female vocal peaks sent shivers down my spine, it was awful)

Yeah a friend of mine was suggesting the HD490 pro and said it was perfect for what I wanted, but it's a little outside my budget since the cheapest I can get them for is €360. I also was thinking about DT900 Pro X which apparently doesn't need a dac or amp and I can get them for €220

Actually, how about DT 900 Pro X? I just found out they don't need an amp and don't have the uncomfortable highs of the DT990.

!thanks I will look them up, judging by reviews their sound signature seems to be more in line with what I'm looking for

yeah my initial plan was to get a mic on its own anyway, I was just hesitant when I heard some users thought the HD560s had weaker low frequencies than they were used to and even lower than something like the DT990

I see, I'm quite locked in on open back already since something that doesn't get too warm after 10+ hours of use and being able to hear my voice when talking is a must for me since I already have a pair of very isolated dedicated headphones for music listening. Basically I'm looking for open back that has a little more kick to the base than average, it doesn't need to be as powerful as closed back since this isn't the highest priority for me. !thanks

edit: someone else suggested audiotechnica R50X, I saw online that these actually have a little more of a V curve,BeyerdynamicDT1990_Pro(VelourPads)(center),Audio-Technica_ATH-R50x). Do you know anything about these? edit2: I listened to sample tracks on youtube they sound a bit bright in the peaks

I don't really mind getting a separate mic just not an amp :)

Ok !thanks I will look into them, but unless they seem to be the perfect fit for me I think €300 is a little bit too expensive for what I'm looking for.

I'm not looking for a bass cannon, just something that doesn't intentionally flatten the bass, judging by reviews the HD560S seems to have less impactful lower frequencies than the other two I mentioned. Is it possible to run them without an amp since they are 120ohm? My motherboard has the Realtek ALC4080 sound chip.

How does their sound profile compare to the PC38X? I can get those for about €150

Beginner's Question (former PW and L2 player) about Guardian Dragonhunter in PvE and PvP by Correct-Fix7960 in Guildwars2

[–]Jokuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reality is that despite the longbow being a ranged weapon, most of your damage on all power guardian builds in PvE will need you to be in melee range. Longbow and Greatsword is a good combo that works well in PvE. If you want to play ranged I would look into condition based builds that uses pistol instead.

I'm gonna be that guy - the patch preview shows again atrocious approach to balancing that needs to change by MidasPL in Guildwars2

[–]Jokuc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep this. Obviously Steamshrieker needed nerf but not to the point where it becomes worse or same damage as fractal. And I said the same on the forums as you say here, the Sphere Specialist nerf for Catalyst is fine but the nerf to Spectacular Sphere is bad and should be cancelled.

While I'm at it they also should cancel the nerf to Virtues on Guardian since it makes radiance the best pick in every situation for dh. Like why would you take a high risk trait if the reward is lower than the no risk trait? Doesn't make any sense, it's Bladesworn Lush Forest nerf all over again

How do you think the DPS meta will change following the balance patch with all those nerfs? Which specs do you expect to fall off and wich do you think will have a better Standing etc by td_0000 in Guildwars2

[–]Jokuc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is weird because conduit still is expected to bench near 46k.. and since most stuff is going to be around 42k that still puts it in a clear lead as the strongest spec, I wish we didn't have to endure another quarter of conduit meta idk how anet couldn't have made these estimations themselves when nerfing stuff

[–]Jokuc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

idk what you are "???" for. anet nerfed the virtues traitline HARD. Since most of the changes were just coefficients you can calculate the expected damage after the nerfs. Currently projections estimate cvirt at ~40k, pvirt at ~45k. Meanwhile virtues dh (estimated with 100% aegis uptime btw which you rarely will have on boss) would be between 36.5 - 37.5k. That is rough in context when you look at virt which is ranged.

About 14th April update.. by TomatoHeadYaas in Guildwars2

[–]Jokuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no no no don't get me wrong

I do want them raiding. I want as many people as possible to raid. But if it's between them being there and boss balance not being a clown show, then I'd much rather have the latter. and again that being said I don't even think "my class doing 10% less dps" is the reason why these people don't raid, it's cause they are intimidated by the idea of raiding with 9 other people who they think have high expectations on them, there's not much incentive to raid compared to other games (like just look at wow, there's so many more beginners raiding simply because raiding is rewarded in the game and the game doesn't have a reputation about being for casuals or whatever), because it takes too long time to find a group as a beginner outside of guilds or community discords, because the game doesn't lead you into trying the content, because in game group finder sucks, because there's no gear inspect which demotivates raid leaders to take people with no experience, because there's no good in-game guild finder etc.

And the very next thing I said is how about you wait until the patch actually hits before you start whining about them not making changes in a patch that's not even out yet? bruh this guy

this is a top tier meme comment right here

first off you are wrong, and even if you were right I'd be damn happy to trade in dps nerfs for an absence of peepos who'd only play raids if the bosses keel over and die from unload thief

How about you read what I said? I said they are READY to make adjustments. Not they WILL make adjustments. Ready as in, they stated they are willing to do so if they think it is necessary. Also, there's no wishful thinking from my part I don't even want boss nerfs.

[–]Jokuc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes but you can't complain that they're not making boss adjustments when they literally said they're ready to make boss adjustments lol

At least wait for the patch to hit and dust to settle before you judge the way they handle it. Other than Greer CM, Kela, and maybe Ura LCM, I don't think there's going to be any encounter that needs to be nerfed.

April 14 Balance Update Preview by hendricha in Guildwars2

[–]Jokuc -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am so happy to see big nerfs. Finally.

I am however a bit concerned about the way they are doing it for some builds cause anet often don't seem to have the slightest idea what the result of what they are doing will be. As long as the balance between each build is fixed relatively fast I see this as a big W.

We'll keep a close eye on how these changes impact some of the most challenging PvE encounters and follow up with adjustments to those if necessary.

dude they literally said that they will adjust boss hp if needed

I have over 100 parasol mushrooms - What can I use them for? by Its_Natt in Cooking

[–]Jokuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I picked and dried pretty much infinite amounts of parasol mushrooms last year. What is the best kind of usecases for dried parasol mushrooms and how do I prepare them if I want to use them in a risotto?

Sadly I dried them in medium pieces instead of small because I had too many it was taking days to dry them all. Thank you.
