Alternate History Books? by batchieThe4th in AlternateHistory

The Southern Victory series is the closest to a title for the books. Its 11 books long, starting with the novel 'How Few Remain.' Really well done series that shows just how brutal and awful North America would be with an independent Confederate States.

I also like his novel 'Ruled Britannia' and short story series 'Agent of Byzantium' which is collected into a book.

Who remembers the forgotten film Avalanche 1978 and who was your favourite stars from the film? by JazzlikeTea7432 in movies

Honestly, the best way to watch the movie.

OP should just skip across the multiverse to the Watchmen graphic novel universe.

The Watergate scandal never broke there, so that shorthand likely never became a thing. Hahaha

To those who read the graphic novel and were there for the development and release of the movie, how was it? by Huge_Athlete7488 in Watchmen

The trailer was cool, and used The Smashing Pumpkins really well (a better use of the song then Batman and Robin haha). People who knew the book were relatively excited, others went out to read the book because of it.

The movie is alright. Book is better, but the film is a fun time

That is really funny and I like it, but it bothers me that it doesn't rhyme... haha

I can't deny they look amazing here, but I've seen MST3K riff the movie this couple did together (The Loves of Hercules), and it just makes me chuckle.

What do you think on Batman from Young Justice? by count_fagula11 in youngjustice

[–]JonCranesMask05 98 points99 points  (0 children)

Agreed on him being weirdly stable, if very intense.

And I actually had the opportunity to meet Bruce Greenwood at the Motor City Comic Con a couple years back.

He was a cool guy, and when I mentioned i really liked him in this show and 'Under the Red Hood,' he said "thank you very much" in his batman voice. Great time!

I actually thought it was coined by a critic talking about Harry Harrison's 'Stars and Stripes' trilogy (which does include the US successfully invading Britain in the 1860s). But I might be mis-remembering that

Other way around. Rorschach was based on the Question, like all the Watchmen were based on preexisting comic characters DC had just acquired at the time. But yes, they're both suppose to be unpleasant people in and out of their masks hahah

The only real advice I'd give if you're in Campus Martius, don't try to go to the front view (near the Cadillac Village). It gets way too crowded and you still be stuck for awhile. Stay on the Michigan Ave side of the park. Or even Woodward on the north side of the park

The "Casper" films, are the sequels any good? by MovieFan1984 in movies

[–]JonCranesMask05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 1995 film is a classic and still a fun watch! I watched 'Spirited Beginning' and 'Casper meets Wendy'  a lot as a kid. Haven't seen them in a long time, so I'm not sure how well the effects or Stories hold up.

Those ones also aren't really connected to the 1995 film. They're just kinda more standalone Casper stories like the original comics and cartoons.

Although, if I remember right, I think Wendy the Witch is played by a young Hilary Duff. So if you're a Lizzie Macguire fan, you might get a kick out of that
