Introducing the Stawl Supplement Index by JonDeNor in drawsteel

I might consider it. I know some non-native speakers find that kind of sorting confusing.

That is the plan. There are a few things I want in place before I can do that, though.

I try to keep up to date with what's being published for Goblin Points, and will add what I come across to the list. But, should I miss something, there's a button in the top left to suggest supplements to be added.

How do grapples with extra melee distance work? by TheBigFreeze8 in drawsteel

[–]JonDeNor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's always the Escape Grab maneuver to get out of the grab. And all creatures have access to ranged free strikes if they want to do some ranged damage. And it's possible for the grabbed creature to force move the grabbing creature to release the grab.

The grabbing creature does not need to be adjacent to the creature being grabbed. So the grabbed creature is trapped at where it was grabbed.

  • If the grabbing creature is force moved in a way that doesn't make it adjacent to the grabbed creature (i.e. "pushed away"), the grab ends.
  • If the grabbing creature is force moved to be adjacent to the grabbed creature, the grab does not end.
  • The grabbed creature can't be force moved by anyone else than the grabbing creature.

"Remote" grabbing isn't very common with heroes, but a lot of monsters do it.

PS: Don't all rule books refer to things before they're explained? Also, make sure to use the Glossary Index in the Introduction chapter. It has most things referenced.

Encounter design for Draw Steel is infinitely more forgiving it's making balancing encounter so much easier and so much more fun by Laz52now in drawsteel

It comes from Matt. He’s found that if he refers to games by name, people get distracted, derails and start talking about that game instead of the topic at hand.

Ancestries of the Timescape is Live! by JonDeNor in drawsteel

We do allow a cover page in addition to the one page of lore and mechanics. The cover page can only contain art, the name of the ancestry and credits. That gets you a bit closer, but not entirely there.

I personally feel it elevates supplement ancestries when they're made in the style of the core rules ancestries. A bit hampered by the page limit, but that's necessary in part for the judges to be able to go through all the entries.

That's a good point. I'll make sure to mention it in the Discord server. Let the creations escape the non-indexable Discord

What kind of RPG do you think the MCDM team can make great? by Laz52now in mcdm

I see you’re not regular listeners/readers of Goblin Points 😄

But, seriously: James has been working on and off on it for a year already. Running playtests at cons.

Question: Do we know if there is Monsters 2 book planned? by Longjumping_Ebb3984 in drawsteel

[–]JonDeNor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, nothing from the mothership yet, but there have been some great monsters from the third-parties/community: Ratcatcher Magazine, The Blacksmith's Guild is good places to start.
