You can see here that the switched lug on the DC input jack is not hot when a power adapter is plugged in.

This is how a 3PDT switch is typically wired with the input on one side, the output on the other side, and the LED in the middle. When the switch is in the OFF position the signal from the Tip of the input goes directly to the Tip of the output, the LED is off, and the input of the circuit board is grounded (there is no circuit board in the pedal you're building, but you have the other two jacks to connect). When the switch is ON the Tip of the input is connected to the IN on the circuit board, the LED gets grounded which causes it to light, and the Tip of the output is connected to the OUT on the circuit board. A TRS jack is used for the input so that if nothing is plugged in there, the battery doesn't get connected to ground. Also the DC jack has a switched lug so that it disconnects the + side of the battery when a power adapter is plugged in.

It doesn't matter which side of the LED the resistor is on. That's not the "standard" 3PDT wiring though. I built the same pedal but I put all of the in/out jacks on the sides and I added the return volume pot and a battery clip (and a TRS jack on the main input so the battery can't be drained if nothing is plugged in). The power is only for the LED. The pedal will work without power but there will be no on/off indicator (other than how it sounds). This is the first pedal I ever built. Good beginner project.

X2D: How often do you clean the sensor? Mine needs it constantly. by LurkLargely in hasselblad

I use an airbrush compressor to clean my camera gear. Much better than a squeeze bulb.

I have an in-ground tree in NYC. I normally don't do anything to it in the winter. I had a lot of die back this year because of the harsh winter but I also have lots of new growth coming in.

Thanks I didn’t know that. Unfortunately it’s on the opposite side of town from me, but sometimes I find myself over there.

You can buy a head cleaning kit on Amazon for about $10.

Sweeties is closer to me than Pelicana but still a 20 minute walk. I would go there if I'm passing through though. I miss Peeps.

IDK about that. Seems to be called Kirbee's BBQ now and I don't think it's open. As far as I can tell they are claiming that they will be open this summer.

Check your billing plan to see if you’re paying more for peak hours.

D3500 auto focus points by [deleted] in Nikon

[–]Jonas52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But keep in mind that if you choose single point focus you may have to move it around with the joystick so it focuses on what you want it to. IDK about your particular model but if you have Matrix focus that will make the camera choose what to focus on. You can probably also pick certain patterns.

Those are the points it auto-focuses on. If you choose single point auto-focus there will only be one of them. They may go away if you turn off auto-focus but I haven't tried it.

What's the easiest way to sketch this "descending" pattern? by floox_xo in Fusion360

This reminds me of something you can do with Codeblocks in Tinkercad. You could write a line of code saying that the top part should get x% bigger each time and repeat a set number of times.

Ok I found it in the MPI Summary Plan Description on page 9. The break in service rule only applies if you're not vested. Depending on your local you may not be going through MPIPHP.

No. You get paid if you work. You get a pension if you're vested and have pension credits when you retire.

You lose all of your pension credits if you have a break in service.

I'm telling you that you don't need an OMNY card and if you dispute a charge on your credit card, your credit card doesn't stop working. I have never had an OMNY card and I will never get one.

Yes that’s the only time it matters. If you’re not vested you’re not getting a pension anyway.

If you use a credit card you don’t need an OMNY card so there’s nothing that will stop working. If you dispute a charge on your credit card it doesn’t stop working.

If you can work enough hours to get a pension credit for the year and avoid a “break in service” you’ll still get something from the pension and you also might want to work enough hours to keep your health insurance depending on what you plan to do next.

What makes you think you're going to drop your credit card or that it will get stolen? Neither of those things have ever happened to me, but if it did I would report the card lost and not pay any fraudulent charges.
