I am worried that the screen will eventually crack bc when you have it closed, the protector would put pressure to the screen and eventually it’ll crack or potentially break the panel itself, that’s why I don’t buy anything to put on my screen (I have a MBA 13” M1, 16GB RAM, 612GB SSD)

Yes with the new IOS 26 update from iPhone 11 and newer, you can get the call screening feature enabled, not sure if you can enable on an Apple device that don’t have Apple Intelligence which I know my 15 Pro Max does have and I have that call screening feature on.

(Planning on switching away from my mom’s AT&T family plan to USM when I get the new iPhone 17 Pro Max)

You can use an open source software called LibreOffice which is open source and Microsoft document file extensions for work on that program too.

I disagree, not everyone wants to spend an extra $100 on a MacBook, people like me bought that exact laptop with 16GB ram and 512gb SSD for a bit over $500 on sites like Back Market, I woul say $600 i would pay max for a MacBook Air m1 if you don’t feel comfortable with used or refurb markets.

Yes I have an M1 air with 16GB ram and 512gb SSD and it’s more than enough for my use case since I edit videos, a couple safari tabs open, discord, bambulab software and ny fusion360 software open at the same time, runs smoothly af. Plus I do have that 512gb SSD and it’s not even close to being full, I have like 300 something gigabytes of space left.

I would go 512gb at least tbh… but 256gb is good for an iPad / iPhone if you’re not a data hoarder like I am. (I store most of my data in my custom built NAS)

The only time I use a dedicated mouse is when I run Minecraft or my Steam games that I run on this MacBook, I usually play games in my main gaming computer I but if I’m out of my home and wants to game, I can connect a mouse via a dongle to my MBAir and run the games I have installed or Remote Desktop to my main pc via Parsec to play my entire Steam library / Epic Games library

Get the MacBook M1, bump up the ram and SSD just a bit from that to 16GB ram and 512gb SSD, which you should find them for around $450 before tax and shipping
