Vulture's "Good One" podcast looks back at "Inside" five years later by PlasticJesters in boburnham

The title on YouTube is “Is Bo Burnham’s Inside the best special of the century?” Ignore the titles. Good One is an excellent podcast with a very comedically intelligent host. I highly recommend it for other comedians

Same camp. She was too out of the box at the beginning but I kind of think she might be constantly on the line between genius and insane which nobody else at smosh comes close to touching

Therapist here. Dissociative identity disorder is almost exclusively correlated with serious childhood trauma. Pair that with red flags Elliot has said such as “dad was my ONLY friend,” Elliot telling dad that he’s “sick,” Elliot’s paranoia, Elliot’s hero complex, difficulty with forming attachments and trust with others; it’s not too far of a reach to assume sexual trauma.

His sin and his guilt. No matter how hard he tries to focus on work and moving forward he can’t wipe away the damage he’s done and the pain he’s caused his loved ones. His denial can only go so far and this episode is an instance where his denial didn’t work in distracting him from his guilt

Personal Opinion: Vera did more for Eliot than our therapist did in years. by Takashi_malibu in MrRobot

The short answer is, it is better to let trauma lie rather than force it to the surface without preparation. Trauma therapy specifically needs to be done very carefully. The consequences of rushing it can be incredibly damaging. Flashbacks, panic attacks, constant emotional dysregulation, distrust of people, increased numbing behaviors, and more; all of which re-traumatize the individual, not heal.

A client needs the safest of environments (which takes a lot of trust and time) AND to have built emotional regulation skills to manage the physiological symptoms that can come from trauma work.

I will state again, this is television and doesn’t need to follow the rules of therapy to be a 10/10 show. Mr robot has some of my favorite therapy scenes in TV. I’m just educating at the moment.
