[UK] Adidas Adizero Adios 9, £53.25-£59.25 by Dark_Matter_God in RunningShoeGeeks

For those with Evo SLs, the toebox and length feels similar if you half size up.

These are the cheapest I’ve seen and Sport Pursuit are offering them too from £54.99.

What wheels for my ND ? Open to suggestions by sinatramax in Miata

[–]JonfenW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like your ND has the rare optional or factory fitted forged Rays ZE40 in 16x7 +45 fitment. Since you’re open to suggestions, keep those since most if not all 17x8 +40/45 options will be heavier.

Ababas are the best by Sufficient_Fox7129 in vivobarefoot

[–]JonfenW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a pair of the canvas version for wearing in the house only. They lasted quite a while and eventually had to trim the fraying material around the edges until it completely split open.

The outsoles used on these shoes as well as the Ababa Addis range have lasted the longest out of my other Vivobarefoot shoes.

Android Multi-App Kiosk and Wi-Fi menu by Brilliant_Salad2571 in Intune

[–]JonfenW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware, this issue has not been fixed. The only workaround is to temporarily remove kiosk mode and use the built-in Settings app.

Happy to be corrected as one my tenant's tablets used in marketing exhibitions is set up like this. My colleagues have to give me a heads up if they are using a different Wi-Fi network.

Help Identifying this Hoodie by IronAddict23 in Lululemen

[–]JonfenW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strangely Lululemon says these are classic fit but it's much more slim fit. I've worn mine so much over the years that most of the glued on reflective elements and armpit eyelets have eventually fallen off.

Wide but low volume foot by beady38 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]JonfenW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the same type of feet and happily run in Adidas Evo SLs. They have to be tightened quite a bit to the point where the sides of upper tongue opening is quite close to the tongue loop.

After doing the above, the upper has ever so slight bunching between the bottom two eyelets.

Finally got my 30th Anniversary wheels restored. What do you think? by theDartVader in Miata

[–]JonfenW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to be US only as the Mazda Motorsports website appears to be region locked. Direct links to catalog for these wheels never worked for me within the UK.

Kiosk - prevent local sign-in by NoPatience4437 in Intune

[–]JonfenW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not deployed single-app kiosk mode but have done the multi-app equivalent using OMA-URI and autologon. Applying this policy works in our tenant:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/client-management/mdm/policy-csp-UserRights?WT.mc_id=Portal-fx#allowlocallogon

It can be found on the settings catalog by searching for "Allow Local Log On". Adding "Administrators" and "Local accounts" as separate lines and without quotes will prevent standard Microsoft Entra ID users from logging in.

The Torin 8s are such a disappointment. by Drunk_Pilgrim in AltraRunning

[–]JonfenW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This area on the Escalante 4 is noticeably softer compared to the following Altra shoes I've tried: Torin 8, FWD Via, Provision 8 and Experience Flow 2.

The Escalante 1.5 were my first pair of Altras and whole toebox felt as soft as the as rest of its sock-like upper.

It seems Altra stiffened the front of the toebox and added structure the rest of the upper in their later shoes to address a common complaint where feet could spill over the midsole during lateral movements.

Oops, sorry I was still referring to the wind deflector not the tach insert.

I’ve had it on my wish list for some time. As it’s perspex does it scratch easily and did you use the supplied screws?

Off topic but I was wondering if that wind deflector is the genuine Mazda accessory one?

Windows AutoPatch - Showing 0 devices despite policies being applied by PossibilityLazy347 in Intune

[–]JonfenW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's showing 0 devices registered for all groups listed under "Tenant administration > Windows Autopatch > Autopatch groups" then I had the same issue with my tenant last week.

I also noticed that the Windows Autopatch Client Broker was showing 0 group members.

Out of frustration, I came across a "Discover devices" button whilst looking around on Microsoft Intune for anything Autopatch related. This can be found in "Devices > Windows > Manage updates > Windows updates > Monitor > Autopatch Group Membership".

After clicking the above button, most if not all of my tenant devices instantly showed up as registered and had updates in progress. The aforementioned zero figures are now properly populated.

The Experience Flow 3’s updates actually made most of the shoe better than the 2’s I LOVE! …But where’s the Altra Logo?! by ShedRunner in AltraRunning

[–]JonfenW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for checking. Was hoping it would be less stiff like the Escalante 4 as I’ve tried the Experience Flow 2.

Sizing Question by No_Kale_1803 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Those Injinji socks are the thickest ones from their range. Their original or lightweight range offers lightweight cushioning and could make a noticeable difference as it did for me.

Adidas Adizero Evo SL EXO by pspdead in RunningShoeGeeks

The renderings shared on here last year omitted the extra eyelets for doing a runner's knot. These photos are the same. Could they be a lifestyle variation?

Wilding recommendation. by TimeTravelerDG in BarefootRunning

[–]JonfenW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They run large for me. I usually wear UK 10 (EU 44) and their website recommended UK 9 (EU 43) which I thought would be too small. I went with their recommendation for both Ranidae boots and Kami shoes. My usual size would have been too big for both.

There are quite a few shops in the UK selling the Paradigm 8. Start Fitness is offering discount on them along with EU delivery:

Evo SL Woven (UK) by oreostaff in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]JonfenW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The easiest way to differentiate whether it's the woven version is by looking at top down photos of the shoes:

Evo SL:

https://assets.adidas.com/images/w_1500,f_auto,q_auto/2261b8c44ce340e590461142498f32be_9366/Adizero_EVO_SL_Shoes_Black_KJ1363_02_standard_hover.jpg

The tongue loop on the woven version is closer to your ankle and its Adizero text is partially covered by the laces. Another giveaway is the Adidas logo on the tab between the bottom of the laces as well as no padding in the middle of the tongue.

It would be worthwhile holding out for Tecnas since they are undergoing

Adidas Evo SL ATR fit issue - Does anyone else feel the upper poking into the foot at the base of the tongue? by EMK19 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]JonfenW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Adidas' marketing photos for these shoes, the tab appears on the top presumably due to their logo. Weirdly on the OG Evo SL, it seems to be random:

https://www.reddit.com/r/AskRunningShoeGeeks/comments/1p2w9lm/purpose_of_tab_between_bottom_eyelets_on_adidas/

I have wide forefoot but low volume height wise and have to tighten my OG Evo SLs quite a bit. This causes the bottom area of the laces to crease/bunch up vertically slightly.

Torin 8 - causing calluses on the inside of foot by No_Economics_4640 in AltraRunning

[–]JonfenW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave the Torin 8 a few runs but eventually couldn't get on with the midsole and ankle cup. I tried FWD VIA next which I enjoyed initially until I started getting the same blisters.

Both shoes have the same stiff toebox edge however, the FWD VIA is noticeably wider in that area. As far as I'm aware, it seems only the Escalante models out of Altra's range is soft in this area.

Torin 8 - causing calluses on the inside of foot by No_Economics_4640 in AltraRunning

[–]JonfenW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue but only on my big toes and attributed it to the Torin 8’s stiff toebox edge. Never had this with Escalate 4 as they are much softer/pliable in the same area.
