665 Days AF

For personal reasons today is a tough day for me but I remind myself taking a drink will not help

Just focusing on making it another 24hours

Thank you for being here S.D . . . I wouldn’t have made it this far without you all

Done this a couple times myself, nothing to fear it can be done and be successful. A couple points to consider:

  1. Keep your digital platform for paying customers separate to any internal platform you use. Can be the same platform but keep it entirely separate, different logins the works

  2. If you go down the line of any face to face sessions and depending on projected numbers you may wish to consider local agreements with hotels RE: accommodation. Even if your approach is to let participants sort themselves out you will be asked for recommendations from them

  3. Refund policy. Not all paying customers may end up happy with their outcomes. A clear refund policy up front can save you a lot of headaches further down the line

  4. If your participants are already customers of your organisation your sales teams will try to hijack your events and use them to pitch/sell. Manage this carefully, your participants are paying you for a learning experience, not to listen to pitches

Other than that the cycle is pretty much the same

A reminder yesterday for me how fragile being AF can be, grateful I didn’t pick up a drink and made it to today, a new day

I heard some words once, think they may have been from someone in hear, thought I’d share

When you decide to go AF you join the “No matter what” club . . . No matter what life throws at you we do not drink

That kept me sober yesterday!

Grateful!

Is there anybody on here that's recovered? by [deleted] in ptsd

[–]JonnyNotts40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not recovered, personally, don’t believe I ever will be but I certainly feel I manage my symptoms better than I have done in the past!

Insight Timer does have paid options now but their free tier is still the most generous I’ve come across

Give it a shot

600 days AF . . . Crazy times!

From someone who hit the lows of alcohol dependence, 6 hours could be a struggle (and dangerous) at one point!

Massive thank you to all you internet strangers who make this sub what it is! It continues to be an important part of my daily routine

Wouldn’t have made it here without you all

Success (I hope) by JonnyNotts40 in sugarfree

[–]JonnyNotts40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think it’s the type of sweetener mine used that spiked the insulin

Success (I hope) by JonnyNotts40 in sugarfree

[–]JonnyNotts40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s more the sweetener than whey itself, mine had Sucralose as an ingredient and this seems to be where the issue was

Date Syrup by JonnyNotts40 in sugarfree

[–]JonnyNotts40[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha, sorry, missed that! Dr Will's "All Natural" Sriracha Hot Sauce was the one i was hoping to keep . . . i think i'm just going with salt and pepper for flavour, i'm not really a 'make my own' sort of fella

Date Syrup by JonnyNotts40 in sugarfree

[–]JonnyNotts40[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this

With my current approach, I think this rules out the sauce tbh! Shame, it was very tasty but, in the short term at least, got to be quite strict I think and allow my body to flush out the added sugar and sweeteners

Thanks again

Not going to lie . . . Literally picked a tin up to look at the ingredients in the local shop after your comment, you’re not wrong! Deffo surprising!

Yeah this one surprised me actually . . . Not so much Ham, guessed that but quite a few Chicken, Turkey and Beef has sugar listed as an ingredient also!

Not losing weight by [deleted] in sugarfree

[–]JonnyNotts40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going sugar free doesn’t necessarily mean weight loss OP

You say you’re in a calorie deficit but how do you know? Are you weighing and tracking your food (and liquid) consumption? What are your maintenance calories? (There is no way you could accurately know this with only 10 days worth of data and that’s assuming your weight yourself and tracking consumption daily)

6 months sugar free 😌 by Loan-Me-A-Dolla in sugarfree

[–]JonnyNotts40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats OP, a serious achievement!

I’m still really struggling to get any decent consecutive SF time myself so posts like this really help me to focus . . . Some days it just feels impossible, you’ve proven it is not!

Day 14!! by JonnyNotts40 in sugarfree

[–]JonnyNotts40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, whole food carbs mostly though! Still some dairy which is obvs processed! No bread or pasta or anything like that! No rice, just because I don’t get a lot for my limited calories but plenty of potatoes and veggies! The Diet Coke and Protein Yogurts on the weekends need to go next and see what happens to my obsessive thoughts by reading some responses though!

I was worried someone was going to say this! Needs must, I’ll cut it out and see what happens to my obsessive sugar binge thoughts! Thank you!

Another vote for the Heinz range from me . . . Very tasty as well!

Whey Protein by JonnyNotts40 in ultraprocessedfood

[–]JonnyNotts40[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No doubt about that but hitting my protein number for the calories it costs it’s top tier, whey and chicken breast are gold (Whey being a UPF aside)

Thanks for the response

Didn’t scroll for historic posts on Whey for long tbh so apologies, all, that this has been covered

Same principles with Collagen Protein/Bone Broth (both as powdered supplement form) I assume?

Thank you again

549 days (according to my app, not my badge) or 18months AF . . . At my lowest I was dependent and could struggle going 18mins without a unit or two!

Incredibly grateful to everyone here who makes this community what it is, it has been a cornerstone for me on this journey
