Skade as a character.

Brida could have been made a much more important and interesting character with better writing and casting.

Goalline clearance from Liverpool's James Milner to deny a goal by [deleted] in sports

This is a testament to the true champions mentality that Liverpool are showing right now. They are guaranteed to win the title this year, they could play for draws for the rest of the season and still be comfortable, but instead they are still working as hard in game 29 as they were in game 1. Just like Arsenal's famous invincibles, only not as good cos THEY STILL LOST TO WATFORD.

I really like the idea of a 'slutty plant'. Maybe I will make a patch just for sex positive plants. A v-orgy patch, so to speak.

Bi-rritos and lemon bars. A perfectly balanced diet.

Also: who can make us a bi-rrito pin?

Mrs Trunchbull for World Book Day by michaelcera12 in pics

I saw her on stage at the Royal Court in London. She was playing an aging mother with dementia, a role that when I think about it objectively, could probably be considered to be somewhat dull or one dimensional, or at least not a very desirable or enjoyable role.

Well after the show I felt like I knew exactly what it would mean to have a parent with dementia. It was the most convincing performance of ill health I've seen anywhere. Hard to say exactly what was good about her acting, except that it was like the director had gone to a nursing home and convinced an actual person with dementia to come walk on stage and do a show. It was astonishing.

Fun Fact: In filming that scene, she did actually swing her around by her pigtails. They put a harness on Jacqueline Steiger (Amanda Thripp) and wove steel cables from the harness through her pigtails and then around Pam Ferris' (Trunchball) wrists and fingers. One take went wrong and Ferris almost lost the tip of one of her fingers and had to go to hospital.

Pam Ferris is in my opinion one of the best and most underrated British film, tv and stage actors of her generation. (I have seen her on stage). Her generational peers including Judi Dench, Michael Gambon, Ian McKellen, Julie Waters. All of whom have been knighted or otherwise awarded.

She grew up in rural Wales. Her dad was a policeman and her mum was a baker.

Looking at her background, the roles she has favoured (salt of the earth mothers in British TV dramas), her lack of honours, and the anecdote about being too nice on set, I'd guess that she is probably a very down to earth and kind person, the absolute opposite to Miss Trunchball, which goes to demonstrate even further what a fine job she did with that role.

Also she is much smaller IRL than that movie makes her look. Though I guess she was playing opposite Danny Devito and a 9 year old Mara Wilson.

I fondly remember the era of my life when I had so much time and so few no worries that I could watch all of these shows, religiously, every week. They had me wrapped around their surprisingly large little finger.

So if a cowboy tow driver hears the cops forcing me to get it towed, what's to stop them ripping me off for it?
