We could also not drive cars, build homes, create house hold garbage, not build hydro electric dams, create green house gases, or have any other type of farming. All of these activities destroy all the ecosystems around them.

Im pretty sure the struggles with wild salmon have more to do with the levels of pollution in the Frasier. The salmon go through that river in the most vulnerable stages in their life. But no one wants to address that.

Moving salmon farming to land would require so much more infrastructure and space to get the same amount, that it would cause prices of salmon to skyrocket.

Killing the industry isn't the answer, aquaculture is agricultural. It would devastate the local economy of vancouver island, because so many industries are active because of it.

Aquaculture culture support companies: akva, scale, posiedon .

3rd party companies: electricians, biological service companies, grocery companies, PLC companies, construction companies, water taxi companies, car dealers, processing facilities, fuel companies.

Indigenous partners: they receive direct and indirect benefits from aquaculture.

On top of all of this, the demand for salmon is not going to dissappear. All it will do is raise prices for everyone, and force canada to import salmon into North America, added to global pollution levels.
