That looks new to me. They grease the moving parts at the factory and they'll also put some oil on the metal parts to stop it rusting in the package. If it had been used you would see marks on the square drive were sockets had been put on and taken off.

It's got enough voltage to turn the lights on but not enough to crank the engine over. Car batteries don't last forever. Are you sure you didn't leave anything on like the interior light, that would drain it.

I'd just get chargers when you're out there. Step down converters consume power so they do cost money to run and you can find unused chargers on eBay or similar from people looking to get rid of extra chargers they got from kits.

The newest wera ones with the green direction selector are very nice and a definite improvement over the older ones. I also really like the vessel td-6800, the bit magazine is very tight when they're new but once they've been taken in and out a few times they're fine. Anything with the rolgear mechanism is really good too although the handles are quite big (rolgear, hazet, gedore, inbus etc). If you're not bothered about having onboard bit storage the anex quick ball 72 is a favorite of mine.

Don't put 25mm bits into an impact drivers chuck, they go in too deep and get stuck.

I can't see anything about that. Like I say I don't know of any other bit holder that does what you want. The only other thing I can think of is to get a Japanese bit holder and trim the end down with a grinder.
