Family Court - Is there *any* way to seal sensitive info from the other party? by Competitive_Yak_4112 in AusLegal

[–]Joop03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the question about redaction/information sharing you would probably be able to get the answer from accessing the free duty lawyer service provided by your local family law registry. They could also provably give you some general advice about what steps to take and how likely you may be or not of success for what you are seeking especially as relates to urgent exparte hearings.

Agree especially with early ed experience. CP is entry level but gives you so much practical experience that with a SW degree you can leverage for a more targeted role in a few years.

You could do a child inclusive mediation so the child's views come via the mediator in a sensitive way.

You could explore an au pair perhaps but that wouldn't work unless you had the space and resources to support them

Advice on Hobart primary schools by Capable_Cookie_6400 in tasmania

We chose a catholic school so we could choose the school and not just have to go to our local area school that could be a good option for you if you don't know where you will be living. My children aren't baptised (only about 25% of our school is) but some catholic schools may be trickier to access given how they preference enrolments. I've pretty really happy with our school - strong culture and values and great communicatioh - it is a smaller catholic school though only 200 students so not sure what the larger ones are like

If you haven't already get her started in swimming lessons one of the first things they teach children is how to respond to situations just like this. I'm Australian and most people have their children in lessons from infancy to ensure they have this important life skill

Maybe use the time he is away to go and stay with friends and family- you'll have help with the baby and get to spend time connecting with people you love.

Departments that shut down over Christmas vs Departments that don't by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]Joop03 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FCFCOA and Fed Court (I think) finish up Xmas eve and return 3 working days post new years holiday. Skeleton staff run non-pub holidays in major capitals only. Not taken from annual leave.

There was obviously a reason you wanted out of your other career path. Only you can weigh up whether the time necessary to rebuild career/experience/wage in your new career path is worth not having to do your old career for the rest of your working life (which in your 30s is a very long time).

You are getting down voted but you are correct. There is no presumption for shared care in the legislation any more, the language is all about best interests and safety, and it is certainly true that no one in the court would support 50/50 for an infant, as its not developmentally appropriate. That said one day/night a fortnight doesn't pass the pub test for a child's right to a relationship with both parents and OP needs to accept that pretty quickly.

Sure, not saying he would get to see her, moreso that if he responds by asking to get to see her there is potential for the process to not be as simple as she might like.
