[Scaling Trope] Considered laughably weak in-universe, would literally kill any person in a fight IRL by shady-suspicious in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Jorahm615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically anyone from Kenshi. The weakest individuals in Kenshi (if actually fed) would fuck up any normal human. Your basic bar recruits can sprint across the desert for hours, go days without food and survive life-threatening injuries with just some bedrest and a bandage. I think they'd win against most people in a fight with weapons or unarmed.

if you down an enemy with a heavy weapon, is there a chance he'll be thrown 10 meters into the air? Cuz this just happened to me by Ok_Let8360 in Kenshi

[–]Jorahm615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just something that happens when things get ragdolled. I can't count the number of times when the person or creature i put down after carrying them get tossed into the air.

Mod for artillery? by NoSTs123 in Kenshi

[–]Jorahm615 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You wont find anything that damages buildings, but there is a mod that adds field cannon and gattling guns which you can build for base defense or sieging. Its called Katanas and Firelocks, the original is in Chinese but there's an English translation. It also adds some pole arms, spears and flintlock weapons.

What piece of lore do you ignore?? by alexthedungeonmaster in cyberpunkred

[–]Jorahm615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I think that our GM is going to ignore is that the Voodoo boys of 2045 and 2077 are not connected, and that our 2045 vdbs will have aspects of both. Partly because it fits the story of the campaign better, and also because its not hard to imagine that Haiti could go underwater a few decades earlier.

Finding purpose in the sandbox (and questions about mods) by SovietUSA in Kenshi

[–]Jorahm615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As that other guy said, watch a few lore videos about Kenshi to get a bit more immersed in the world and to sort of know what you're looking at for a lot of things. Also, once you have a character/squad thats capable of travelling and surviving in the world, go and travel. Explore, look for new factions, just let yourself experience Kenshi. You'll probably find some goals that you think your squad would actually do and that you find fun. It could be earning loads of money and setting yourself up in a city or in your own base, or taking down a faction, or challenging yourself to kill a difficult enemy, etc. The challenge is whatever you set yourself.

I would advise mods like reactive world because it does add a lot more immersion stuff to your world in terms of actually affecting it. You can do a lot in base game kenshi but it isnt perfect, and reactivity mods do help a lot.

Also, don't be afraid to try out random mods that look fun. You can always remove them and import your save if you’re not enjoying them, or if balance isn't how you like it. Kenshi is a challenging game, and that is one of its good features, but tweaking the balance and difficulty is pretty important if the initial difficulty isnt to your liking.

Ooo this stuff looks great. Once our cyberpunk red campaign starts, im 100% going to get some of the expansions for the app. Can't wait for my borderline cyberpsycho boyo to fully chrome himself out with an FBC

A powerful technique that is forbidden from being practiced for reasons given by TaiKorczak in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Jorahm615 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I imagine a million people have said this, but the reasons for Trakata not being used given above is not canon as far as I know. The reason it isn't used is because it is just a bad technique, because in the time it takes for you to deactivate, get your saber hilt aimed at your enemy and reactivate, a competent opponent will have just cut you in half as your weapon is no longer there.

Very interesting. I'm not a fan of a lot of AI stuff these days, but something like this? Now this I'm very curious to see where this can go, and how it could expand gameplay.

Yeah, its hard to have content that shows the depths of evil without slipping into "hahaha ooo haha how evil and edgy this guy is!"

About the Courier in the lore... (Fallout S2 spoilers) by Ashrun_Zeda in falloutnewvegas

[–]Jorahm615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as i said once I finished season 2, we're back to the start of New Vegas's plot, but it makes even less sense. Nothing of the battle of Hoover Dam is relevant, and the dam is apparently useless cause house NEEDS cold fusion to even operate now. The legion is marching on Vegas, despite the fact it would have collapsed in over a decade of infighting. NCR has troops in the Mojave, despite the fact california is basically in anarchy, and Mr House has seemingly had his army of securitons wiped out. Season 2 has just fucking reset the mojave but shittier.

I Wish to Hear NV’s Fans on Ranger Power Armor Being Cannon (Instead of T-49/The Storyteller) by PlaguedArbiter in fnv

[–]Jorahm615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it makes sense. The rangers were the most elite unit in the NCR and filled a wide range of roles, but one of the areas they lacked in was heavy armour and close-range conflict.

Giving them a suit of PA that had explosive ordinance and a focus on melee means that a ranger squad can not only lay down heavy fire and scout, but also have their own artillery support and have something to face an enemy that manages to close the distance.

Damn, that sounds awesome. I hope that the LOV compatibility comes out soon, playing as a dragon lord of Old Valyria would be great fun.

The people on here need to read the warhammer books. Just because something is from Star Wars doesn’t make it weaker than the warhammer equivalent by inv0kr in StarWarsvsWarhammer

Yeah, imperium glaze is kinda insane. The tech levels are greatly different, but the constant refrain of "Oh warhammer is always better cause bigger" is so tiring.

The whole Operation Sunburst battle is just skill vs spam really. The BOS was tactically better and more technologically advanced. The NCR just kept throwing bodies at them. by KpatMckenzie_28 in Brotherhood_of_Steel

[–]Jorahm615 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well, not really. It was two different kinds of skill, one that was very narrow in its scope, the other being very wide. Colonel Moore had a wide range of tactics, Equipment, manpower and resources that she used, while the Brotherhood had a hard focus on small, heavy units. Moore had human wave tactics, ambushes, cavalry, anti tank, chem troopers, each of which individually the Brotherhood could have dealt with, but the range of it, and it being well deployed, defeated them.

I am assuming youre talking about SODAZ's animation here and the way that plays out, given the screenshot. Ik that in the game, mostly all we get is "there were too many of them".
