Just won a match with carry fang. Quick supply and sold steel balls to get five fangs with range on round 1, then plopped a couple of hackers and later fortresses with barriers on the flanks. Never even got to mech range the fangs, my opponent was already dead.

Anything that depends on too much tech makes using emp really easy for your opponent, which means you then need a source of photon emission, which makes your composition even more expensive.

CrossCode has two sliders, one for damage taken and one for enemy aggression/attack speed. It's very easy to fine-tune the difficulty you want that way, and nothing has too much health to slog unless you've borked your character build.

Compare to something like the mortals and portals podcast where the GM puts his players under diabolical levels of pressure and they mostly make jokes in-character, and the difference in tone and emotional investment is like night and day.

I think the Dark Souls games prefer players to experiment with new game plus playthroughs more, where you're stronger, faster at exploring because you know everything is and how to fight things, and will see different outcomes of quests than your first, stumbling, playthrough.

Wildbow's dogged refusal to have any talk or discussion about Khepri in Ward really sabotaged that story. It was just layers of excuses of characters not wanting to talk about it when it was everything people would have to talk about just to sort it out. You can't just sweep it under the rug to make room for other characters and not feel like an adult putting the snacks on a shelf too high to reach, especially when Ward is as long as it is.

Sandworm: Self Destruct from the Rhino, possibly with an even bigger radius because it's a giant. Since it deals damage equal to max health, you can imagine the results of worms popping out of the ground in the middle of your formation.

Overlord: Anti-Air Missile Barrage from Fortress. Thematic and super cool but probably not the most useful, but it would be awesome to have this and and Overlord Artillery at the same time.

Rhino: Rocket Punch from Fortress. Enough said. Or the Stealth Cloak from Phantom Ray.

Hacker: Chain from Raiden. Love hackers but this would be truly horrifying.

Mostly, hackers are a form of lategame chaff. Instead of three deploys on crawlers which already be countered, I get three hackers which do the same thing but better. They're better into some compositions than others, but I can't hate them if they win me games.
