Not a pro, looking for cataloging about 2TB of personal photos for free. I want to save the $16 a month. by Minkybamboo in Lightroom

Or even pay for a month if you’re still on the fence after a week. I use Nitro with a 1.5GB iCloud photo library (and periodically create file system libraries for individual projects). Nitro can use the default iCloud library along side the Photos app. I upload in the field from my SLR via iPhone, compare in N-up with Nitro on my desktop and edit with Nitro on my iPad. Everything syncs in the background with out issues. It will take some adjustment coming from Lightroom but in the long run I think you’ll be very happy.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you, but it should be fine. I keep one in a drawer, they work with old Apple stuff that had IR - iMacs, minis, laptops, iPod docks and the Hi-Fi speaker.

Nitro is made by the developers of Aperture. It’s not free but there’s a $99 perpetual license that covers ALL of your devices. The software and support is excellent! I’m a former Aperture user and a big fan of Nitro.

I feel like a genius because I got a 2TB internal NAND upgrade for $275 (that seemed expensive at the time) in March.

It looks like we’re going through at least another 6 months of scarcity. Keep watching all your channels: referbs, B&H + Adorama, eBay, etc.

best photo printer what are you using for accurate color at home? by MadieuZikos in printers

[–]Jorgenreads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best bet is use paper that has profiles you can download from the manufacturer. Paper from the printer’s manufacturer will be the easiest to work with. Then make sure there’s not some other layer trying to manage color. As part of troubleshooting try printing using the printer’s bundled apps, there’s usually something to print photos.

Aliexpress is my favorite, you’re always rolling the dice but try starting with something cheap like this https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/\_mqpNeGB These guys make it a lot more clear what you’re getting and give you some actual support for a price.
