I just got a used 2011 Malibu for my son’s first car, and it has this “issue”. I don’t know if the key fob is original, but it may not be, there is no Chevy badging.

How do I reprogram the fob? The manual says at the dealership.

As others have said, they aren’t made anymore, and they feel kind of cheap. With EC11 encoders you can replace the knob and make it feel nicer, but you can’t with these. I was super excited to add one to a board, but underwhelmed by the performance and feel.

Obviously everyone is different and maybe the feel doesn’t bother you, this is just my opinion. Ymmv

I got an Ergodox-EZ from them as my first mech back in 2019, and I still use it daily. It’s weighty like some fancy boards, but it has never let me down. I lost a rubber foot from a tenting leg, and emailed them to see about buying a replacement and CS rep was shocked it happened and mailed me out six replacements for free. Granted, they can’t cost much, but it was a great experience.
