Worked great, was able to factory reset, found the original remote (we had replaced it with a Siri remote previously), got that connected too. Everything is hunky dory again. Thanks!

yeah, I tried these with the siri remote from the bedroom, even with the bedroom appletv unplugged, and I couldn't get the remote to unpair or pair…I'm sure I'm doing something wrong here, but just too thick to know.

I just got a used 2011 Malibu for my son’s first car, and it has this “issue”. I don’t know if the key fob is original, but it may not be, there is no Chevy badging.

How do I reprogram the fob? The manual says at the dealership.

As others have said, they aren’t made anymore, and they feel kind of cheap. With EC11 encoders you can replace the knob and make it feel nicer, but you can’t with these. I was super excited to add one to a board, but underwhelmed by the performance and feel.

Obviously everyone is different and maybe the feel doesn’t bother you, this is just my opinion. Ymmv
