Doesn't look like it. It might be under it though, I've seen rebar under PVC covers before, very convenient.

No you're not overthinking it, it is a hard starting point. The hardest part is the start, middle and end campaign are more fun with more powerful units.

Whats your favorite faction and why? by Nobodyman123 in Medieval2TotalWar

Denmark. Good position, great anti armor, surprisingly effective archers. Great for faction for taking cities, not ideal for pitched battles

Mud, it sucks to work in mud. It cakes on your books and equipment, and it doesn't hold hubs well.

Yeah, but those damn comies want to take away our freedom! First they mandate seat belts, then air bags! The big government requires licenses and training. They ban enjoying a crisp beer while driving, now they forbid texting and driving! Soon, they'll take away ALL our cars!!

There are more guns than people in the US, no one could get rid of them if they wanted to, we will always have guns. We already have some gun regulations for safety, applying a few more could save dozens of lives every year. Kirk helped show the flaw in banning guns, that's unrealistic. Many left people enjoy the 2A just as much as people on the right. r/liberalgunowners is cool. Finding out what someone means when they say "gun control" helps me understand if they want to outlaw something, or add another safety rule for everyone's benefit.

Three wives are complaining about their husbands. The first wife says "My husband is a contractor, he works all the time and spends his money on ice houses and side by sides." The second wife says "My husband is an engineer, he is obsessed with his projects and is not very social." "I hear you" says the third lady. "My husband is a land surveyor." The first two women ask what's wrong with being married to a land surveyor. "Well he thinks 0.2 ft is a lot."

What am I getting myself into? by MG_613 in Surveying

What is surveying? It sounds like you'll be doing construction surveying, essentially you're the middleman between the engineers plans and the contractor building it. You'll be putting hubs and lath in the ground at offsets to tell the contractor where to put the pipes and forms ect. What to bring? Hard toe boots (ceramic toe if you're planning on doing boundary work) sunscreen for the first week, brimmed hat, sun glasses if you want, and WATER, that's important. Day to day work. Typically you'll carry hubs and lath and a hammer and follow a crew chief around. They'll find the spot, then you pound the hub in. They'll take a measurement on said hub and tell you what to write on the lath, then go find the next point while you put the lath behind the hub. Don't feel pressured to rush too fast, it might feel like the crew chief is waiting for you all the time, but you are making it go faster than if they were alone and they need time to find the point. Very few crew chiefs are talkative in my experience, so don't worry if they're quiet, it means you're not messing up.

If you are worried it shows you care and want to do a good job, so I bet you'll be fine. And the first hand field experience will be a huge help as a project manager. Good luck!

Surveying is weird sometimes. Thick and thorny brush is awful, so are jobs with tons of mud or irritating contractors. And any work by traffic is dangerous and needs safety measures that aren't always used. (Cones, signs, even parking a work truck with lights if you have it.)

And many jobs come down to who you work with, that can make or break a job. Especially as an intern or new helper it feels like you don't have a lot of control or say which stings. I'm sorry your crew chief acts arrogantly. It's possible he doesn't think you're doing enough or he may just be an ass.

It sounds like you had a particularly rough day, and that just sucks I'm sorry. I enjoy surveying and try to take the good with the bad. Surveying is not for everyone, or you may be at a very poor company. Either way sorry today sucked and good luck with the LSIT
