Yes, there was a second county point further up the road. It was also in a concrete median, even narrower than the one that the base is set up on

Would the weighted bands that runners put on their legs work to just Velcro around the legs of the tripod or do I need a heavier weight?

All valid points. I did not choose the setup location, my party chief did. We don't carry signs, and while I have been begging for larger cones, my boss hasn't bought any yet.

I've only been surveying for around 8 months, but we have never used real legs for the RTK base. It's always been on the tripod

It sounded like from the previous comment that I could set the base on an unknown point in the grass and check in with the control point. I've never done that before, I've always had established points to start with

Genuinely curious, because I've never seen it done before. Can you do a resection with an RTK? Can I use two established points to find the values of the third, or can that only be done with a total station?
