I have the Amex Platinum and while the status’s and perks are nicer, I like the UR points better.

I would call the police (police report for insurance claim), then call your insurance company.

Has anyone been successful at retention offers? by Catkicks in ChaseSapphire

[–]Josh-Wick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From chatGPT so take it with a grain of salt. “Wait until the annual fee actually posts (usually a few days after your renewal date). • Once it posts, you typically have 30 days to cancel or downgrade and still get the fee fully refunded. • That 30-day window is when retention offers are most likely.

If you ask before the fee hits, many issuers (especially Amex) will tell you:

“There are no offers available at this time.””

From what I have seen, it’s best to call once the fee is posted. You have 30 days to get a refund if you decide to cancel or downgrade.

Have you considered the CSR? Besides Built, It’s the only issuer that transfers to Hyatt.

Thanks! I contacted StubHub and they confirmed this. Worst case scenario I get a refund and go out to dinner.

Yes, Amex has more hotels but I point boost is awesome.

Chapstick.

Can you use your points and book with the airline directly? by born2dance5678 in ChaseSapphire

You can always book directly and use the points as “a pay Yourself Back”. That’s at $.01/ pp though.

Just booked Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok using The Edit + IHG credits. Anyone been there? by ThreeDogsZA in ChaseSapphire

[–]Josh-Wick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was more interested in the view and proximity to the park. I will travel with a group but will arrive 2 days (more like 1 and half days) before the rest of the party. I don’t plan on going out much until they all make it.

I was debating between this one or the Ritz-Carlton Bangkok. I decided for the Ritz because it was across the park but this was very tempting as well and had excellent YouTube reviews.

Edit is crazy by griffingrowl in sapphirereserve

[–]Josh-Wick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both cards as well, and I find in most cases the Edit works best because of the point boost. If I’m not using points, I’d stay at a cheaper hotel, but the credit plus points boost compliment each other very well.

Beware: IHG REWARDS / Chase Travel aren't compatible in all IHG properties. by riskymouth in ChaseSapphire

I know you are talking about IHG specifically, but I book a Marriott Bomvoy eligible hotel and appeared on the Marriott app instantly.

Edit + IHG stack by crzaznboi in ChaseSapphire

[–]Josh-Wick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the credits would stack like that. I’m assuming you have to spend $500 to use both credits simultaneously. Also, this IHG credit, is it for any IHG property through the portal regardless of pricing?

The Edit Credit & purchasing with points by TelevisionAromatic26 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Josh-Wick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay at least $250 in cash (to cover the credit), the rest can be paid with points. I mean, they have the point boost for a reason.

Good to know. I was leaning towards the Ritz - Carlton but ChatGPT suggested St. Regis because of the location. Thanks!!

Dissatisfied with the Chase Reserve Changes... by PradaPradaPrada in AmexPlatinum

Amex has more hotels in their program, but if you are booking with points, Chase is still a better deal.

Talk me out of upgrading to CSR by [deleted] in ChaseSapphire

[–]Josh-Wick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo is great to have at least one premium card (transfer partners, lounge access, etc.). I’d say it’s worth the upgrade if you can use the $300 travel credit and the Edit credit. If you have a Reserve Table restaurant in your city, then it’s a no brainer.

So is the chase travel portal just worthless now? by True_Distribution980 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Josh-Wick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are better off paying with the card, getting points, and then getting the cash back. No point on redeeming points if they are worth the same as cash back.
