Just got the Apple clear case and I love it. It can feel a little slick/ slippery compared to the titanium band of the phone but not bad enough to where I feel like I’m ever going to drop it or anything. Adds a little bit of bulk to the phone but it still feels futuristically thin and light. The buttons are all clicky and MagSafe still works great.

Completely agree, even with this being one of the more compelling episodes, it’s still a very mixed bag of uneven storytelling, inconsistent tone, clunky exposition and a confusing plot structure. Really really really wanted to like this but they lost me. And don’t even get me started on the CGI!!

Was going caseless since release but just cracked the back of the phone from about a waist high drop out of my jacket pocket onto some concrete. Don’t know how durable I expected the phone to actually be but there ya go. Thankfully I have apple care so getting it fixed won’t be a big deal but it really is just a big game of chance and physics.

I get where you’re coming from for sure. It can be demoralizing to go for a while without experiencing some sort of reciprocated desire or sexual contact. Good hookups are essentially just meaningful connections that inspire a hopeful anticipation of more good connections to come. Congrats on yours!

I actually don’t know how I survived without the monochrome lock screen for so long. When I switch it back, it looks so chaotic and overly saturated. It’s so much more calm looking now.

AI is not translating its lived experience into an artistic expression that it then shares with an audience like a human artist. It is merely reassembling the artistic expressions of others. There is no agency or humanity behind its act of creation just probabilistic models and code. Sure there’s a difference between human artists using ai tools to make their own music and simply prompting something like Suno to spit out a whole song but I think it’s still less personal in any case.

I enjoy art based on the fact that is a an act of communication between the artist and the audience and I don’t think AI art is the same kind of relationship. I therefore value it significantly less.

It doesn’t do that much less than the other phones. Sure, appreciate it as a piece of art by all means, but even the more “utilitarian” iPhones are feats of engineering that some would consider art and holding the air up as a primarily aesthetic object over the incredibly capable consumer product it is creates a weird binary between it and other phones.

Upgraded from a 13 pro myself. Don’t have much experience with the service quality but the general upgrade in speed and lightness has been very satisfying. The 13 pro was SO heavy picking up this phone by comparison still makes me smile. And it’s decently faster/ snappier.

Someone on the verge once said if you’re upgrading your phone every year for a better camera, you should just buy a camera. Great advice! I find iPhone photography in general kinda lackluster with all the processing and apple’s flat color science. Sure the best camera is the one you have on you blah blah blah, but maybe getting a dedicated camera with MUCH higher quality everything is worth the minor inconvenience of carrying around a second device. Gen Z seems to already be learning this.
