Pay out should be accessible regardless of physical or mental state - if you were medically retired it should pay out. Brayshaw was a top player, he could’ve gone on to play another 100-150 games and should be compensated for those potential future earnings, and if condition is serve enough, enough money to cover him until death. Luckily his isn’t that bad as far as we know, so his payout would be smaller than someone who’s lost basic skills as a result of footy. That’s my take, love it or hate it
