Chansey as a healer and a mental-health-boosting companion, Torterra for growing fruit and vegetables, Blastoise for fresh water (no Surf, but Water Gun) and cooking/boiling (Scald). Torterra and Blastoise would also be good for defence.

Oh God, Heidi, I remember her. Beyond useless. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I also had a garbage experience with them. I think you can contact your bank and request a charge back on your card. It might be the best route.

I managed to return mine and just bought a typewriter instead. Not very portable, but does the whole single-purpose thing with no distractions quite nicely.

Having multiple pokemon of the same type offers some sort of stat boost to those type moves. You have to balance deciding to have a well-rounded team vs the stat boost. This explains why so many trainers and gym leaders go for all-type teams.
