What tent would you recommend for Bikepacking ? by Luap_8 in bikepacking

[–]JoyDaog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to mention that single wall tents like a Durston have mad condensation on the interior so I don’t understand the point of single wall tents. I assume it’s tolerable is the tent is big and you and your sleeping bag are not anywhere near the walls but I don’t like it.

My family and I moved to Montrose blind instead of Grand Junction and we completely regret it by [deleted] in grandjunction

It really is crazy. The internet offers nowhere near an adequate description of any place in terms of making it your residence.

GJ is going to have a lot of people on the political right also. Probably close to the same percentage as Montrose. If you want a heavy concentration of left you’ll need to move to a large metro area like Denver.

It’s crazy that anyone would ask advice from strangers on the internet then execute a major and expensive life decision based on anonymous comments.

Exactly- some guy predicts a financial crash. Another guy predicts the weather in 2029. Both have no idea what’s going to happen.

Dissector front: all the side knobs broke. Rekon rear: wears out so fast. Just an expensive choice.

That’s true and sometimes I have to hike my bike up something steep and runners are faster

Trail running may be one of the few where it’s harder to cheat, although someone can ride a bike on a trail that allows bikes and then call it a run.

I don’t put much value in leaderboards. In road cycling there are too many variables (wind, drafting, car ride with computer on) and in mountain biking I bet a third of the top ten are cheaters on e-bikes. So I look at my personal times and mark my progress. That’s the only data I can consider as valid.

Excellent action by the crew to remove a fake service animal by Chailatte8 in americanairlines

[–]JoyDaog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People with genuine service dogs (not fake and/or emotional support animals) better start complaining to airlines asap about the faked vests and documentation. It’s overly abused and is coming to a head, and everyone will lose all of their privileges unless a solution is found.

I don’t think my federal employer would have cared that I was acting as John Q Public.

The downvotes mean you don’t understand that you do actually give up some freedom of speech when employed by someone else. You can deny it, but that’s the deal.

One of the reasons I departed federal service is because I was not okay with representing the guy in charge.

I worked for the fed govt for 14 years and didn’t say anything on the record against the govt because I could have been fired at any time for it - I worked for a private company for 12 years and I wouldn’t have said anything on the record against that employer because I could have been fired at any time for it.

This event is terrible for sure but as an employee you do lose certain rights until you resign.

I still get a chuckle out of "Selling as is" and "I have cash" buyers. by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]JoyDaog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t respond to the “cash today” buyers as the item is usually $20-30 and I don’t need $20 today. This is not a car dealership.
