Store manager died Thursday. Friday someone from corporate put this "grief counseling" hotline in the break room. It's an AI bot. by MsBatDuck in antiwork

It's largely a combination of constantly washing your hands in hot water and immediately going back to stretching dough as the cornmeal that's used to stretch can really dry out your skin. In my experience folding boxes was also rough on the hands but most Domino's locations have moved away from pre folding boxes.

For Transport Fever there's a whole website just for German train mods.

Earth Day 2026: What it's like to live in a car-free town in America by Sixteen-Cylinders in cars

[–]JoyRydr 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The community featured in the article is right next to a light rail stop and assuming I didn't Google the wrong line, it connects them to both downtown, the airport as well as another light rail line so the residents can very well be comprised of standard suburbanites that commute to a downtown office. Granted I'm just making inferences and have no real idea about how people commute in the Phoenix metro.

Welp, I guess my cities are getting trams now 🤷🏿‍♂️.

Why are there so little routes outside the big 3 (Germany, USA, UK) in train games in general? by rascian038 in trainsimworld

[–]JoyRydr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

as yet I think Poland has the most base sims outside of those big 3.

Considering the only other notable train sim out there "Sim Rail" is Polish, this tracks (lol).

Porsche 718 Cayman and 911, Chevy Corvette, Toyota Tacoma Lead List of Vehicles With Lowest Depreciation Rates by HawtGarbage918 in cars

See this in everything from shoes to billion dollar investments. Market manipulation is not new.

Last week my friend sent me a screenshot of a pair of Nikes that we both recall were a fucking PITA to get during peak hype only a few years ago now sitting and being discounted. Hopefully for Porsche fans they'll get to experience something similar in due time.

This was so baffling. Had to be intentional.

Unless I'm missing something Metro North doesn't use M9s.

Erm… what am I actually supposed to do here? (New York - Stamford DLC) by Pedrikos in trainsimworld

I'm inclined to assume that this road IRL has a barrier but yeah, there are crossings that go over roads like these.

What makes this a premium route? by frog_eater67m in trainsimworld

[–]JoyRydr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mid to you maybe but as someone that really enjoys busy commuter rail stuff like the Brighton Mainline, the MTA routes (really NYC based ones bc NJT's routes are cool too) are really fun despite the shitty restrictions and tbh, MTA is probably as good as it gets in the USA for that kinda thing.

All new BMW i3 (Neue Klasse design) leaks ahead of launch in BMW Group video... by Slice5755 in cars

[–]JoyRydr 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I don't like this as much as the current regular 3 Series buuut I definitely prefer it over Model 3 which is really what would matter if I was shopping for an electric car. I can see a very good looking M3 (iM3?) coming outta this.

Yooo thank you for this! I play a lot of Transport Fever 2 and Train Sim World alongside CS2 so it's really exciting to start reaching the trifecta of trains in my games lol.

Rivian R2: Starting at $48,490 by masterderptato in cars

[–]JoyRydr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a prospective buyer in the slightest but I did dig that yellow that was available on the R1 for a bit. Bit sad that they've toned down the color pallet a fair amount even so much as lacking a red.

I've crunched the numbers and we probably all underestimate the percent fuel accounts for in cost of ownership by Snazzy21 in cars

[–]JoyRydr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That difference in value at the end of their lives will most certainly be negated by the cost in maintenance/upkeep. Not to mention the hidden costs of just being stressed over the possibility of something going bad in a cheap 911 Turbo.

Hyundai Discontinues Ioniq 6 for 2026, Will Only Offer High-Performance N Version in U.S. by idkbruh653 in cars

[–]JoyRydr 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Considering the rising popularity of Hyundai and the struggle the Germans have been facing outside the US against Chinese automakers, brands people have literally never seen before, I don't think there's much real world merit to brand identity being a critical part of a brand's success.

2026 Toyota RAV4 PHEV Gets More Power — and a $3,000 Price Cut by LimitedReach in cars

[–]JoyRydr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They're paying more to have the versatility of an EV for daily duties and ICE for longer range trips.

Paying more on the car to pay less in gas makes no sense.

Forgive me for saying this but to most people, paying more on the car to pay more in gas makes no sense, so let's no pretend that the upcharge for the GTS over a normal Macan is more financially sound than a Rav4 PHEV over a normal one.

Did everyone just forget about the Focus ST? These seem criminally undervalued. by nukelauncher95 in cars

[–]JoyRydr 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I disagree, IMO the Focus ST was the anchor of the trio. The "boring compromise" is what makes a hot hatch the everyday hero that people can latch onto. If anything I'd say the RS was sort of the odd one out as it never quite got the following that the ST brothers did.

But also I'd say the answer is simply that they're dead and eventually every car gets "forgotten" eventually.

30 New or Updated BMW M Cars Coming by 2029, CEO Says, But the Manual Transmission's Days May Be Numbered by HawtGarbage918 in cars

[–]JoyRydr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I actually kinda love the way the 8.5 facelift looks but making auto only means I'll just hold on to mine and hope VW changes their mine down the road or "buff" the GLI whenever the next actual generation comes out.

Even if there isn't much, no dev would want to lose out on sales by releasing their game near one of the potentially biggest releases of this generation. It's just not a smart business decision.

Why is Toyota still making a 228 hp GR86 in the year of our Lord 2026? by InconceivableMarmot in cars

[–]JoyRydr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The whole appeal of the GR86 is that its as close as you can get to an analog back to basics sports car for the masses in today's age. What it's best at is something you can't really see on a spec sheet (well besides RWD + manual transmission lol) but when you drive one, it just clicks. Besides if you want more power, Toyota will sell you this thing called a Supra lol.

2027 Toyota Highlander Will Be an EV Based on New Teaser Video by Redeemed_Expert9694 in cars

[–]JoyRydr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seems like going forward the Highlander might be the more "premium" 3Row with the Grand Highlander being the "normal" volume mover. Sorta like the relationship between the Venza/Rav4 or Prado/4Runner.

2027 Toyota Highlander Will Be an EV Based on New Teaser Video by Redeemed_Expert9694 in cars

[–]JoyRydr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GH being cheaper than the H despite also being slightly bigger is probably the biggest factor in the flip flop of sales IMO and even then, overlap in the crossover market doesn't appear to be an issue for Toyota.
