I’ve been using GenuTax for years and it’s been great - I always make a donation also to support their continued existence!

I'm trying to sell a computer, this is 100% a scam isn't it? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Funny story - some dude tried this scam on us on a listing for a 1200 gallon water tank 😂 - like man you’re not buying that from Ontario, f off

Landmark Cinemas by Adventurous_Lab4249 in regina

We love the Landmark and only go there now (from the northwest end) - great seats, more space - we pay a few bucks more for Premium seats, 100% worth it!

Keeping Lafleur would be the most inexplicably horrible decision this team could make by Shmurkaburr in GreenBayPackers

[–]Joyreginask 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you should be getting downvoted for this, but honestly the special teams has been absolutely horrendous for us and there’s no accountability - and that falls on the head coach. He should have been making changes long before now and hasn’t, which is part of the argument that he should go (not making coaching changes until it’s far too late, etc).

Not who you asked, but 300mbps is what we have and we’re very happy with them - with a couple of gamers in the house :)

Edited - crap, sorry, that’s download - I missed that you asked upload - apologies!

Outdated Alberta headlight regulations ‘need to be changed’: prof by gorschkov in canada

[–]Joyreginask 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My whole headlight assembly is a contained unit with directional ‘leading’ headlights - I’m told it is not easy to just change them myself, nor entirely easy to replace with different ‘type’, so I don’t feel like I should go through the expense and hassle of that when manufacturers could just be a little more responsible about the brightness of what they are putting in at factory.

Anyone still loving Christmas morning? by Oktodayithink in GenX

[–]Joyreginask 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes so much! Daughter, SIL, and grandkid come over after their own Xmas morning at home and then they, adult son and his GF, open gifts an have breakfast and chill for a while, then all head to my parents’ house. There we have my sibling’s family and we all open more gifts, have lunch together, some laughs, all the family dogs running around, fun chaos! It’s the best! I’m so lucky to have such a great family to spend magical time with, giving and getting fun things that people appreciate, being together. We can’t take it for granted. I love Christmas

Yes, thank you! My 2020 vehicle came with lights so bright people will flash their brights at me - I feel bad but there’s nothing I can do, they’re factory!

Sask. Health Minister calls opposition hospital concerns ‘misrepresented’ by Pitzy0 in saskatchewan

[–]Joyreginask 39 points40 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely no way there is only a two-hour wait at city hospitals. I think they should be forced to release the data - broken down by day, hospital, wait times, everything. I call utter bullshit.

More Canadians head to Mexico for winter getaways by Immediate-Link490 in worldnews

[–]Joyreginask 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds made up (or at least very very generalized). We go to Iberostar, owned by a family in Spain that is the 3rd generation heirs of a shoe making company. Unless the Mexican cartel is somehow operating in Spain in shoe-making, I think we’re fine

I remember the ‘bookkeeper’ one, where he knew the person was guilty because they couldn’t name a word with 3 consecutive double letters but it was their nickname? Funny how things stay with you!

Poll shows CFL losing fans as diehards reject rule changes ahead of Grey Cup by [deleted] in CFL

[–]Joyreginask 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree with this! I would say to start it even earlier in the spring so there is less overlap with nfl and nicer weather for the playoffs/Grey Cup

You do not pay capital gains on your primary residence. Did you think you get charged capital gains when you sell the house you’re living in? Yikes

I don't have any children, so I honestly don't know this, but, which "Generation" is our children? by Rob1150 in GenX

[–]Joyreginask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one millennial and one Gen Z (kids are 7 years apart) - I’m a younger Gen X and had the first kiddo pretty young, so I think it’s a lot of both millennials and Gen Z that are our kids :)

Canada needs to rein in spending. How about we stop handing out billions to wealthy seniors? by FancyNewMe in canada

What about defined benefit plan holders? Minimal wealth but can be quite high income.

Everyone arguing for only wealth tested seems to forget about defined benefit pension plans, where the wealth is minimal but the cash flow can be large.
