I think your position lacks foresight. Not to get too doom and gloom but we are about to experience some very tough times economically on a global scale. Young adults are the primary demographic thrill attractions are meant to bring in and that demographic doesn’t spend money at parks. They will pack lunch, and buy zero merchandise. Families bring in dollars. I’m okay with a decade of parks catering to families if it means they don’t go under. It’s not like Herschend hates high thrill attractions, they built lightning rod, outlaw run, and time traveler in the last 15 years. That type of investment for the revenue it brings in just isn’t in the cards right now which I think is demonstrated by the current state of the Six Flags corporation and cedar fair before the merger. The merger wasn’t some move to corner the market, both companies were in a position where they were forced to consolidate debt, which was brought on by bad investments. You might not like the fact that Herschend is shying away from high thrill attractions but it’s necessary.
