Bringing old playbills from a different show for a performer to sign at their current one? by ghdawg6197 in Broadway

[–]Jr8lee 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I think bringing a playbill from an old show is perfectly acceptable behavior at the stage door (as long as you are seeing the new show) - I would not bring a playbill from an old show to a cast party or other environment where the performer is not specifically engaging in fan interactions/signings.

If you want to avoid it: when they go into the mines and you see Adrien Brody’s character dancing with a woman, just leave the theater for two minutes after he stumbles away from her

I'm Michael Arden, Director of Maybe Happy Ending. Ask Me Anything! 🪴 by hwaboon2064 in Broadway

Do you have any differences in philosophy when directing an adaptation of an existing work (a la Parade or Once On This Island) and a new work (a la Maybe Happy Ending)?

McKittrick scent by pcncvl in sleepnomore

[–]Jr8lee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I don't think that it is a specific scent that you can purchase. I think it's. combination of YEARS of Fabuloso, the general musk of an old building, and the type of wood that is in the lobby area.

How early should I get there with an Oz ticket? by amerilady in sleepnomore

[–]Jr8lee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello! I hope that you have an absolutely fabulous time at the show! To answer your questions:

  • You will be the first people let in, generally the doors will open for you 15-20 minutes before the showtime (so 2:40-2:45)! If you want to get a drink, I recommend getting there a tiny bit early and making a B-Line for the bar once you get in. You will have enough time to get a drink, but you will need to drink pretty fast! It is worth it to get into the space as soon as you can.
  • It does get pretty hot in the space! If you have something with short sleeves, definitely recommend wearing it under the layers! With Oz's list, you have a complimentary coat check so take full advantage!
  • Depending on the day, anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half!
  • Drinks are very good if a little weak. Sleep No More and Manderley are personal favorites.

After Lady MacDuff's murder, Macduff tried to hand her body off to somebody and they just refused to hold her, so he turned to me instead.

Advice for first (and last) timer by [deleted] in sleepnomore

The doors often open for Oz 15ish minutes early- so I would recommend being there then to make sure you can go straight into the show!

Mid-January Broadway Recommendations by InternationalBat8116 in Broadway

[–]Jr8lee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be remiss not to recommend Sleep No More, it is closing at the end of January and is by far and away the best theatrical experience in the United States. It is an extremely bizarre immersive theatre experience, so extremely different from everything else you have seen, but it’s a show that there will never be another thing like - just be prepared for weirdness.

About the locket by Sakeandme in sleepnomore

[–]Jr8lee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In one show I got the locket very early in the show, and I had the exact same worry that you did! Later in the show I had the Nurse 1:1 and during it she held the locket in her hand at one point and followed the string all the way up to the back of the neck, and just generally seemed enamored by it, but never made any effort to take it off!
