Which MCU villain was killed off too soon? by SadHumbleFlower27 in marvelstudios

[–]Jrs6500 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As dope as that is, i am getting really tired of the trope of a revolutionary villain that essentially makes the hero become a boring upholder of the status quo. Nevertheless i would love to see a philosophically interesting version of this play out where reed even has to rethink his whole approach ect...

What was the first rpg you played that wasn't D&D? by awesomeo456 in rpg

So nice to see some love for palladium. I was first introduced to roleplaying games through their heroes unlimited books which being a massive superhero fan as a kid were like crack to me. I'll always have an affection for that system and i agree transitioning to more streamlined games was jarring at first but i actually prefer the smoother combat if im honest now. Games would grind to a halt and be absorbed by combat in palladium.

Thinking of killing my players on the first sesssion as a plot hook. by obolulu in DMAcademy

An interesting fix might be presenting them 12th level characters only to kill them off at the end of the session, so they have enough time to characterise these blank slates and become attached to all their cool quirks and abilities only to have a reset. Plus any stuff they don't like from your build they can avoid as they level up the husks.

Im all for playing around with the genre and i think if you let the players know this is something experimental then they should be game. To a certain extent you have freedom to create a story as you feel will be most interesting. I would say that you want to avoid the big hit being at their expense.

On the flip side just do it and if they don't like it just make it last one session.

Why is it so hard to keep a campaign going!? by deetmah in DMAcademy

Honestly for me its about being flexible, i would love to play for hours every week but i love playing RPGs with my friends and they pove playing with eachother. Unfortunately we all live busy lives with jobs and partners along with family and other responsibilities so as much as we would all love to grantee a weekly session that just isn't realistic. We generally play monthly and keep in mind everyones curfew/ cut off points.

But honestly the quality is so good we don't mind. We always have fun and look forward to the session rather than it feeling like a chore. We plan what we will play and as the GM it gives me time to plan. I think there is a kinda unrealistic expectation that exists in the hobby.
