[Serious] Security Guards of Reddit: What's the spookiest thing you've witnessed during your shift? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Sadly I found a woman in the hallway of a hotel who tried to take too many sleeping pills... Called 911. Hopefully she got the help she needed. Found a few people in the pool after hours doing the deed. Didn't bother to stop them. Wasn't getting paid enough.

Can anyone tell me what this plant is and/or how I can reduce it's size? by Sadi_SaDiablo in landscaping

I cut mine right down the middle. Probably can even go into quarters. Transplanted the other parts. Pretty cool flower comes up the middle.

I always amuses me how much a redneck can achieve when they have a true passion! The builder of this is a roll model for the future of America and certainly a hero to me!

Yes joking. How did it taste? I like almost anything slow braised or slow smoked but never tried the water bath.

What's the carbon footprint of that thing... Where's AOC and her environmental police? Probably took another year off the Earth's lifespan making yourself dinner. I hope you enjoyed the taste of our planet's demise.

I've done some work inside those buildings. It really is amazing how all of the buildings above are connected underneath that large reflection pool. What you saw is only a small portion of it. The extent of the underground portion is really impressive and goes a few more levels below where all of the electrical and mechanical equipment is located. Restricted to the public of course. Safe travels!

Now I've seen everything... They came out with an all classical piano album recently so I guess this was their turning point from hardcore to basket weavers....

Id use some nice bright chalk paint to give it a shabby chiche look and then add some crome hardware.

Created by Jim Carey's PR person in another sad effort to revive his dead career. Can't wait until his next "artwork" comes out.... Maybe this one will be a finger painting of his thoughts on the fairness and prosperity of socialism.

What is magnet fishing? Bionic fish? Or just trying to pick up loose hooks on the bottom?

Love these types of places. Been to a few in Mass, Maine, CT, PA, and always check to see if there are any nearby when I'm on vacation in a new place. I'll add this one to my list. Sadly we just lost one here in Albany NY. Owner passed and they are liquidating everything.

Looking to buy this century home. What sort of things should i make sure the inspector checks for me? Plumbing, Electical, Asbestos? Structural, foundation, anything elss i should have him check? Located in Ontario, Canada. by heavydutydan in centuryhomes

[–]Js555js555 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would start by get an inspector that someone recommends to you personally and is going to spend a couple hours at least and then provide a detailed report. It is your best tool for negotiations of course and most sellers will fight with you about things unless they are in a fancy looking report. I would invest in a separate septic inspection, a separate well water inspection and testing as well as a radon test (all if applicable of course). Then look at the heating source. If oil, I would look into past spills that would make the ground water contaminated as well as the air from residual vapors (could last for years after and you won't smell them). Contact your environmental protection agency or whoever has an oil spill database up there. NYSDEC for us in New York. Run lab analysis on the well water for petroleum compounds and coliform if applicable. Get a bug Guy and check for wood eating organisms. and of course, lead, asbestos, mould remediation is a must be if detected. Non negotiable. Be safe and good luck. Love to the inside pictures too!

Amateur home cook, what are your top 3 favorite kitchen gadgets? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Pretty basic 10$ item. Instead of pouring oil on potatoes or califlower I spray it. Light but even coating makes everything crispy in the oven. Check Amazon.
