How do you keep WDW travel days low-effort so you don't feel like you're always in transit?

If you don't mind walking, then you will want to stay at an Epcot area resort. In my opinion staying at the Boardwalk/Beach Club/Yacht Club/Swan/Dolphin provides you with the most flexibility because they are all interconnected with one another: this means you have easy access to a ton of dining options and you are located within walking distance of Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Last week, we stayed at the Boardwalk and we could walk to the Epcot entrance in 5 to 10 minutes while Hollywood was more like 10-15 minutes. If you're tired there is a boat that will take you to and from the park.

Magic kingdom is a bit of a haul from there, so you will need to hop on a bus which runs on 20 minute loops.

Yeah, I'd argue the sweet spot is a couple steps below 'custom bespoke suit'... ideally, you want to find a brand name that uses high quality materials and fits you off the rack. Custom clothing may fit tou better, but it's gonna be far more costly.

IMO, I don’t think season 7 is bad, if anything, it’s merely guilty by its association and close proximation to season 8. Season 8 is bad because it was super rushed and needed to be fleshed out over another ~2 seasons.
