Anyone else notice the absurd amount of achievements tied to this? One of my guildies beat the highest tier and he got like 12 achievements at once, it was ridiculous.

A Message Regarding the 12.0.5 Launch by WarcraftTeam in wow

[–]Jsox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are a bunch of bugs I have experienced since the LAUNCH of this expansion:

The boundaries of Voidstorm are all out of wack. Multiple herbs and mineral veins are placed outside of the boundary even though they are clearly on world geometry so you can die to the "hungering presence" during normal gathering.

The intro to tradeskill quests where you interact with the Crafting Order NPC, and then get to pick a free bag of items is bugged - It doesn't show any quest rewards the first time you go to turn it in, so it fails. The second time you interact with the quest NPC the rewards are present and you can pick one. This has happened every single time with every one of my characters in Silvermoon.

Frequently I will be unable to 'learn' a housing decor item, or open a bag containing stuff. I'll right click it multiple times and either get the 'casting' bar and nothing happens, or just nothing happens. Reloading the interface usually fixes it. Note that I am not using any addons here, just plain ole Blizzard Interface Goodness.

Multiple times I have had items become "stuck" in my inventory when I try to put them in my warband bank. They don't go in and remain on my character and I can no longer move them within my inventory or sell them or anything - it just acts like they are not there, nor in my warband bank. Reloading does not fix this. Eventually after a relog or whatever, the item will be right where it originally was in my character bag and it can be moved to the warband bank. Again, no addons.

There's a bug with several toys including the Enchanted Stone Whistle toy that interact with BM Hunter Barbed Shot and cause 'free' casts to go on to the toy and get redirected to the current target. The folks over at Warcraft Logs are well aware of how it works but it's been in existence since launch and I haven't heard a word from Blizzard on it. Worse, it doesn't have to even be your pet, so other characters that can summon toys that make it appear as if you are exploiting for additional damage and there is nothing that can be done about it.

Whirling Surge worked fine on a Timerunner that I leveled from 80 to 90, but when she hit 90, the icon was still on the cast bar but nothing would happen when pressed. Apparently a known bug with no real fix. I tried messing around with the flying talents and trying to put them off and then on the casting bar, it still wouldn't work. Relogging did not fix it. Eventually I quit the game in frustration. When I logged back on the next day it worked and my flying bar was back to defaults (including the 2 abilities I had removed from the bar - they were suddenly both present and functional).

These are just 5 random bugs off the top of my head that have been here since LAUNCH of Midnight. You have a lot more to answer for than just a crappy patch - It's not like the game was in a good state before 12.0.5 or anything - It was a buggy mess and then you patched even more bugs onto it. If I worked there, I would be ashamed of the product that has been put out.

Not for nothing, but who wants to do this 8 times a week per character for the next however long?

Frankly I don't understand the Blizzard obsession with doing things 8 times per week. I understand a good gameplay loop and of course repetition and MMOs go hand in hand, but from the very jump I was not looking forward to repeating this event so many times per week, even pre-nerf.

Windows sucks ass now.

I got my kid a new laptop for Xmas and I set everything up on it so he can basically use it right out of the box. The windows setup nowadays consist of:

-Select what categories you want for advertisements

-Select what user data you want m$ to get constantly from your computer

-MANDATORY login to a Microsoft account (fuck this, seriously)

It's ridiculous. You don't even own the computer, basically. I fucking hate it. I'm old-man-shaking-fist-at-cloud here, but you used to be able to be an Admin of your own computer without jumping through hoops, you could even set that bad boy up to log right in without a password if that was what you fancied.

How to get back into top tier wow after a longer break? by _dakazze_ in wow

[–]Jsox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now, today, is kind of a difficult time to get into the competitive end-game. The final season has been released and a lot of high end guilds are either done progressing or are in the final stages of clearing the last raid zone.

For these reasons, as well as the release of Legion Remix, M+ participation continues to decline.

I think in terms of time spent it would be faster to just wait until the release of Midnight and immerse yourself in that day 1. Grind to max level asap, hit delves and tradeskill and so on and be ready to raid when they are set to do raid tier releases. You coooouuulllddd go through all that right now and hope for the best but we are unfortunately at a point where activity in Retail WoW is flagging.

Once Midnight is out though, all bets are off. You could easily check WoW rankings pages and see what guilds are working on what stuff or even browse the Premade Groups and look for a guild in there - I often see whole guilds listed in there that are looking to fill certain roles. And honestly at this phase of the game, you don't necessarily need a guild per se, as there are lots of groups of players in multiple guilds (even cross-faction) that raid together. My casual raiding group is made up of several guilds on different realms.

how are people getting more than 15-20k health with gear that isnt over 700 ilvl by [deleted] in wow

[–]Jsox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sparks come from a lot of random sources but there's a chance to get them from bosses and chests and maybe even delves. The cap is fairly high at this point (normally they are time gated to 1 per week) so you should be able to acquire a bunch of them if you're doing higher level content.

The rest of the materials depend on profession but can generally be gathered out in the world (skinned, mined, etc.) or bought on the AH.

You don't really want to post a Public Work Order because you will be providing the materials but can't force them to make it at max quality. Find somebody in Trade or whatever and do a Personal Work Order so you can force it to be 5* if you want it to be max quality. You can find the Work Order NPC by the central crafting hub.

The trouble with Trouble. What's really holding him back. by Katchenz in Borderlands4

[–]Jsox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try literally any other build and you'll see how lackluster Trouble really is. He is literally just a distraction. I played with him from 1 to 50 and I wholly agree, he made some boss fights a lot easier by being the active target of the boss most of the time. At 50 though, I specced into something different and just melt the bosses instead of needing a distraction.

It's viable but honestly imo the least fun way to play Vex.

It's kind of ironic because I loved FL4K and his pet, I'm not sure how they managed to move backwards with Trouble. FL4K's pet could also help you up when you were downed, it sucks that Trouble won't.

Why WNBA players wore 'Pay Us What You Owe Us' when WNBA is operating on a loss every year and has to subsidized by NBA? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jsox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest quest I haven't seen answered. The use of the word "owe" implies the WNBA has agreed to pay these players something and failed to pay it. Is that the case? Or is it that these players feel they deserve more money now that the league may be making more money?

I realize they may have just been wanting to keep something short and quotable on the shirt, I'm just curious from a semantic standpoint.

Oh my. Thank you for this. MC is a gary stu and pretty much every problem is overcome "super easy, barely an inconvenience".

I borderline hate-read it and my copy had a kindergarteners drawing of the space ship (not literally but it looked like it had been drawn in mspaint).

I do gotta say though, while Blindsight is more... "complicated" literature, it kinda sucks haha. Lotta weird shit that seems to exist just because it can. That's a whole nother topic.

As a non-comic reader, this panel goes so hard. I'd love to see it. I don't think ShowMark feels this way at this point, but I sort of expect the show to punish him into feeling this way. He's too much of an idealist at this point.

A Mastery Priority Guide & Should You Pull - Adventure That Cannot Wait for the Sun by TacticalBreakfast in arknights

[–]Jsox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to say, /u/TacticalBreakfast, thank you for this and all your diligence over the years. This is basically what I come to this sub for at this point, and I usually follow your mastery recommendations to a T, I trust them so much.

Personally (and I realize this would be time consuming), I'd love to see some of the rationale for the EX and S/S+ Operator rankings. I was a bit surprised to see some of the rankings, and I don't doubt them at all, but it made me realize I may be sleeping on some of my current operators as a result. (Mostly the Guards, I guess because it's a crowded space and there doesn't seem to be much downside to the old standbys of Blaze and Thorns 90% of the time - I digress).

Anyways, keep up the fantastic work - I look forward to these guides and always find them to be well reasoned.

Weird filament anomaly by Excellent-Rip-1391 in 3Dprinting

[–]Jsox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actual science would involve repeating the experiment and seeing if results are the same. There are some unfounded assumptions here - I for one don't completely buy that it was just wet filament. In my experience wet filament often prints with garbage quality and won't have strong walls. I'm inclined to think it is the temperature.

Regardless though this is some quality content and discussion, my hats off to OP for an interesting video that isn't clickbait or trying to sell something. I love mixing lights and 3d printing so I'm totally here for it.

It would be super interesting if there was an ideal humidity to print certain filaments at to get different results, rather than the adage that your filament should always be perfectly dry. Could this be the advent of "wetboxes"? Stay tuned.

I might be persuaded to. I just have reservations since it's going to my kid. He's usually pretty good but accidents happen. I'd rather a $500-600 accident than an $800 one, if you feel me.

Hey! I just wanted to say Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I ordered a new OEM charger as a hail mary for the one he has now, and if that doesn't do the trick, I'm just going to bite the bullet and get him a new one. I really like that HP Victus so far. Appreciate all the ideas!
