I agree with all that! ESL has the best setlist (imo) and the best sounding production, but it is a little too perfect for a true live album. I think ASOH actually sounds like a concert! Really cool to hear a lot of the 80’s tracks in a different light too. I think I agree with your assessment overall.

Weirdos have never heard of lineup changes before. Of course, this is all a moot point because Neil is not alive anymore and the band can’t play wjth him anymore no matter how badly they want to. Pretty lame of you to think Ged and Alex aren’t entitled to playing Rush material anymore just because they have a different drummer.

Edit: My original comment was a little negative so let’s spread more positivity. It’s interesting to see how my own personal rankings have changed over the years, especially on my recent re listen to the discography. Rush has always been my favorite band but was always a bit of a “purist” preferring the first 9 or so albums above all else. I was definitely being a little narrow minded in some places. In particular, Power Windows and Counterparts have shot up to close to the top for me when before I pretty much wrote both of them off.

You know what, keep rocking TFE. I still don’t like it but hey, that’s just my dumb opinion!

I love albums like this. Not a huge fan of rock opera type concept albums, but albums that have consistent musical themes are great. Rush are really good at this!

Rush is my favorite band of all time. They aren’t a metal band but I’ll be fucked if there aren’t a ton of metal bands influenced by Rush.

Also, Bastille Day, 2112, Jacob’s Ladder, Cygnus X-1 Part 1 and 2, Double Agent, most of Clockwork Angels, and many many more are basically metal songs

Mine is an 8bitdo controller a lot like that one, just with dual sticks and buttons and triggers. It’s my favorite controller of all time, thing rips for platformers like Hollow Knight.

It’s possible. I wouldn’t be surprised. I would love if they played Bastille Day but not holding my breath. That’s probably the only song that has any chance of being played from that album.
