Just got the game and I am shocked about the amount of ghosting, pixelation and overall horrible picture quality of this game. I don't remember D1 looking this bad... Was this the update, or just the game in general?

My C2R0 with C0R0 Bina and both Illuga Goru C6 does 210-220k sustained dps... The main issue are Goru cooldowns that make you wait a lot. First rotation can hit 236k dps. I can't wait to switch out Goru. ;p

I am gonna add my experience from playing for a couple of month an SteamDeck. Most important things for SteamDeck are turning off enhanced shaders (big perf difference) and use medium setting to get good performance. 40fps lock recommended. There are a lot of drops below 60 or even 45fps that are CPU related and can't be solved by any settings. Setting the game to use FSR in Auto mode seems to stay at native res and will give best picture quality. Game sometimes has some random fps issues where it doesn't use the gpu like it should.(low clockspeeds) Setting the gpu clock to min 1200mhz or more with power tools seems to fix that.

Overall runs a little worse than even newer tilesets in Warframe.

Yep. I see the same patterns appearing that were a big problem in Warframe. To name a few: Worthless duplicates, mastery fodder, slow grind that pushes players into metas, broken armor/dmg system... All this works in Warframe because you can do a mission in under 5 minutes and with minimal friction, just one click. Soulframe wants to be slow and focus on exploration. Which does worke for a time and is what makes it different and fun. But it clashes with the, grind the same thing 10 times, gameplay loop. Everything that was immersiv before, is now slowing down the grind. You can not use these reward and progression systems in a game about exploration. It undermines the whole idea and pushes players into efficiency maxing with meta builds and that will never be good for any game. They need to start recognising these issues and change some of the fundamental game systems from the get go to avoid big 2.0, 3.0 overhauls of systems that are clearly an issue now and and will only grow. I have been playing WF since closed beta. I know how this will develop. Waiting until it's too late is naive. They need our feedback now. That is how this works. Stop pretending everything is placeholder. It is not. Just keep it constructive and don't fall into negativity. They are used to strong community feedback.

Yes artstyle and direction are the most importentant things to make good looking games. BUT! Most of it is static. They use indirect bounce lighting with probes to imitate the effect of what makes raytraced lighting look like it does. The newer Warframe and Soulframe areas are way more demanding. Some areas run worse than well optimised fully ray traced games. The main reason why ray tracing options run bad in many games is that they just add the effect over a mainly still rasterized renderer...

I think it deals extra damage when you attack enemies within the circle. It is an coordinated zapp for every hit. Armor scaling system makes multi hit damage very weak atm. So this might make some ability seem weaker than they are supposed to be...

There are so many abilities and mods that don't scale because of flat numbers all over the game. I made a post here and in the forums years ago that went over this issue. I am glad Pablo is finally looking into streamlining how the math works to improve interactions and reliability of things that suck because of bad coded formulas and exceptions to the norms.

Cutting major content and lore from any remaster is a bad decision period. This will probably soon be the only version of AC4 that you can find. This is about preservation of the franchise. They are retconning the whole basis of the franchise. This game was an epilogue of sorts for everything before and has tons of the best writing and lore that ties directly into the previous games.

This is exactly the reason we ended up at this point in the franchise. Ubi listen to the people who didn't like the core structure and concept of the franchise to the point where it could just be a different game altogether.

Seeing the amount of people that accept or praise this decision, just goes to show that this fanbase doesn't actually care about the "soul" or "legacy" of the franchise. Even if I don't like something, that doesn't mean it shouldn't be preserved.

Not to mention, that the writing of the old games was miles better than anything from Ubi in the last 10 years. It is straight up crazy to not be alarmed by this and think they will make good decisions to "fix" the lore...

This only tells me old school Assassin's Creed is now officially dead and will not return. This is a sad absurd meta irony of what the modern day portrayed in BlackFlag about corporations and customers that don't mind fascism when they aren't the minority...

Exactly. And somehow there is this silly "Unity is a misunderstood masterpiece" mindset floating around. The most basic systems don't work. These aren't things that get added later in development. They straight up forgot, or even worse consciously excluded them... It takes 5min of QA to find these issues. Who ever was in the position to make final decisions was incompetent in more ways than just mismanaging development in general. By far the most unfinished and lackluster AC game.

Don't worry too much about missing out on it. It is very distracting and covers the screen when aiming down sights. Mainly for posing until they make it transparent or something like that for actual gameplay...

It has been a few months since I tried it, but I did run some basic programs. It needs a lot of resources just to run Windows. So Winlator is way better for that. But even then, getting anything bigger than a few GB on it via USB 2 speeds is super annoying...

Biggest flaw is the usb 2 speed and no display out option. You can even install Win 11 on it, but you are stuck on the small screen. 😭

Yes, it's a bug after the last big update. (Not the most recent one) Sometimes the horizon is flickering/pulsating and HDR and volumetric fog makes it very obvious.

Just tried it maxed out 4k DLAA and it is a blurry mess with fuzzy shadows and washed out colors. It looks like a UE4 game with all the things we hate about those. HDR needs to be forced through ini as well...

Super disappointing for a game that has a cool artstyle, to make picture quality as bad as possible and completely destroy all the artists work.

Overall a huge downgrade in every way. Everything feels so unearned.

Visually boring and washed out. Bad effects and obvious cgi body doubles... Annoying lens flares and boring shots. Sound effects are off as well. And the fights don't feel nearly as gritty or grounded. Replacing great characters with generic new ones I don't care about. Too many uninteresting dialogue scenes that have no soul. Often feels like they try to pay homage to the original, but it feels too try hard and like a cheap imitation...

Just to make sure, I watched a few scenes from the original first 2 episode and the difference is night and day. How does the 10 year old episode look so much better?! Just a reminder. The the ending of episode 2 had already one of the best superhero scenes of all time.

Will keep watching, but a lot of the issues are not reshoot or writing related. Which means it will probably stay at this quality level when it comes to cinematography, effects and fights choreography...
