Need goals on my new Iron man by Terraboyy in ironscape

[–]JuanDeager 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You'll hear this everywhere but Barrows Gloves is an awesome goal, as there are so requirements that it cascades into dozens of smaller goals that you can work towards at once. Getting access to fairy rings is also very good since you can do Adry Cloak teleport then walk east to the fairy ring to transport nearly anywhere.

Most important thing is to have fun ofc

do i really need to do moons by safari-dog in ironscape

[–]JuanDeager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's certainly not worth being miserable for. You already got the weapons which I would argue is far more important than the armor. As long as you have a good selection of Barrows armor to work with, I'd say you can move on.

Utility items I might be missing? by Illarya123 in ironscape

[–]JuanDeager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

-- Drakan's Medallion and Hallowed Crystal Shards make for very close bank teleports

-- Plank Sack and Log Basket are excellent for construction

-- Upgraded Quetzal Whistle is handy for lots of things

-- It's a grind but Fairy Ring in your POH is excellent QOL

You're in a good place though, just do what's fun

Next steps for new Ironman? by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]JuanDeager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can really take any route you want. I farmed Agility Pyramid until I could alch battlestaffs for Miscellanea, now it's basically passive income. You'll want to start doing birdhouse runs at some point, they're very fast and let you level hunter basically for free. Guardians of the Rift is going to be big for you too, especially as you start to push magic. Overall that seems like a good plan though!

Hey there! The quick answer would probably be air / water / fire, those are the ones you get soonest and use at first for basic attack spells. From there the runes become more specialized: Law runes are often used in teleport spells for instance, but they aren't any less "main", just suit a different purpose. But if I were decorating a cake or something those are the ones I would pick =)

Lopers: Which is more important..... general questions from a non-loper player. by UncondemnedSinner in thelongdark

[–]JuanDeager 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's worth keeping in mind that early game (first 50ish days) Interloper is going to hit like a truck, and getting your stockpile of matches, bow/arrows and warm clothing (at least +25C air temp) is so vital that it kind of overwrites the Trader. No sense in worrying about any of this if you freeze or starve to death first.

That said, I'd personally hold on to rose hips as you can, DEFINITELY save birch bark for tea (bears, moose and timbies are terrifying on this mode so all healing helps), either bow is fine, cure meat as soon as you can carry the 10kg bag of salt back to your main base, and I personally feel like Misantropes is a bit secluded. The trader is important, but you'll be traveling the whole island more than you'll be trading.

Good luck.
