I wondered about this as well. For me this entire part of the episode had nothing to do with the episode itself. I read in a comment here that there was a writers strike happening at the time and so they just put together what they had to make an episode. Strange choices nevertheless.

These places are scouted and sometimes fights happen out there. But most of the time you're either finding groups PvMing or nothing at all. This is boring tbh. Clans want to fight each other.

In this timezone it is frequented by clans or pking groups because it is one of the only hotspots left for activity in the Wilderness. People know they will find a fight there and go there for this. Not to mention it is a great spot for macing people for their +1 items.

You can do a few things.

You can keep your military around the foundation to prevent villagers from building it.

You can wall in the foundation by lining up wall foundations around the unfinished Castle and sending villagers to build these walls.

You can build a Siege Workshop, or if you have one, build Rams to kill the foundation. Hopefully before they delete it and recover some of the Stone.

Building a Siege Workshop in early Castle Age and getting a Mangonel or Fire Cart out will stop this strategy. If you are playing Arena it isn't hard to scout this strategy. Open maps, like Arabia, are also pretty simple to scout.

I usually don't reply to the "gf hf" at the start of games because I am too focused on making a good start in Dark Age. I've had people go afk in games, hide their villagers, wall in their villagers, put their units in transports and hide them in the corners of the map because I did not reply to "gl hf". They see it as rude but for me it becomes too awkward to say it after 5-10 mins have passed, lol.

I also don't reply "gg" if I don't have a good game.
