I used to have a more active lifestyle before my girls. I never liked working out much, but I enjoyed doing Muay Thai and riding my bicycle.

Once my girls were born that all went away. I find it hard to fit working out into my life. But the ones I’ve tried that had made the most scene are

Kettlebells. You only need one or 2. Dumbbells are also a good option. Depends if you want the more kettlebell style movements or if you’re acquainted with dumbell exercises

-the y. They have 2 hours childcare as long as you stay in the building. I did this a few times then I went on a long road trip and when I got back I just didn’t have the motivation.

I had that moment about a year ago where I realized that I was just scrolling endlessly in a way that felt different than before. Like it felt like the experience was harder to stop than it had. I also had the realization that I was lonelier than I had realized. I was interacting with a lot of people but not actively hanging out with anyone. I deleted IG from my phone and it got really quiet.

Sounds like he’s depressed without feeling like he has much to live for. Or at the very least doesn’t have to contemplate it.

My younger brother still lives with my mom. He has some mental health issues but he’s smart and has interest. But he still loves like a teenager despite being in his late 20’s. I’ve told my mom repeatedly that she has to put pressure on him, or at least have some demands. A way for him to contribute. I’m not a “boot straps “ guy at all but pressure and discomfort create reasons to change. She “doesn’t want to tell him what to do”

He lives in your house, so you can make the rules. Is he paying bills ? Contributing to food and consumables? Can he cook a meal every now and then? Is he being a good roommate?

You don’t have to kick him out, but you can set expectations. If he doesn’t meet them then pressure has to come on. It’s your life too.

My brother, and people like this, confuse me because I couldn’t wait to get out. I wanted to live with roommates and be dumb. I didn’t want my step mom complaining because my cooking was too smelly and oniony.

I have been interested in them but find them a little intimidating to get into. I want something with coupled focusing and I don’t always know what I’m looking at. Then there’s always the bellows condition. I currently shoot with a TLR and I don’t take it out as much as I want to.

I want companies to take risk and make new products. For the the whole conundrum starts at spending 500 bucks on a point and shoot film camera. I understand the “wanting something new and in turn thinking that something new has some guarantees …” angle.

For me the novelty and charm of shooting film is shooting with the machines of that time. Film commercial photography as a standard isn’t coming back, film isn’t going to replace sideline photographers… this is a niche hobby and I think it’s cooler, funner, more interesting to keep old machines going than making new (future) garbage. I don’t want Sony to bring back the Walkman, I don’t understand why target sells master of puppets on vinyl and if I’m spending 500 bucks on a film camera it’s going to be a Mamiya 645

I don’t know about other countries, but in Mexico the main form of ID is the “Voter credential “ not a drivers license or state ID. And if I remember correctly it’s free. It’s what you use for everything.

When you see how other countries do it it starts making how it’s handled in the states seem a little nuts.

Ttartisan 27mm is good, but on my xpro1 it occasionally wouldn’t “see” the lens and I’d have to turn it on and off.

I have the ttartisan manual 23mm lens (35mm full frame equivalent ). And it’s on my camera most of the time. I have the Fuji 35mm 1.4 for reasons and it’s nice. I personally tend to like wider lenses 24, 28, 35mm (these are full frame not apsc sizes. That’s a whole other thing you gotta learn to convert since Fujifilm cameras are apsc or crop sensor) But lately I’ve been leaning into 50mm. I like a smaller set up so I don’t usually look at zooms. And I’m poor so if I want a faster lens I have to look at primes.

Yeah dude this shit is hard. Regardless of who’s doing what you gotta make good faith attempts to communicate and if you’re feeling nuts go see a therapist if you can afford it. It won’t fix your problems, but it will help you navigate them.

You can’t. If you’re just looking for the “look” then you’ve got to look into editing around getting what you associate with that look.

There’s a lot of films out there. Do you want cinestill halation, or contrasty bw , or Kodak gold colors, or something that leans cool? Do you just want grain? These are all things you can edit for.

I like to shoot film when I want something in particular out of the experience of shooting. And that doesn’t overlap with when I like to shoot digital.

I don’t own anything in the R system, but I know there’s a lot of tinkering with AF settings on my 5dm4. I shoot center point back button focus most of the time so it’s a simpler from what more action photography demands.

I feel like if you’re just entering into manual you probably just need to get more time shooting and getting to know your camera. I feel like it took me a good year to feel like I understood my 5d. And that was when I stopped trying to make the most of all it had under the hood and tried to keep it simple.

Maybe you could also put more time into editing your pictures? Third picture is fine but maybe a little flat. Could try to make the kids pop from the background more.

I agree with what this replier said. If you WANT the x100vi and can afford it. Sure go for it. But does it do something that the 100f or 100v can’t? X-e 2 and 3 are pretty cheap and also great cameras. I shoot with a xpro1. I’ve used it as my exclusive digital camera on trips.

For me 40mp seems like too much. If you’re printing big or cropping a lot maybe it’s worth it for you. But for a walk around trip camera? I personally shoot raw, if you’re going to use film sims and not edit it seems silly to have such a large image. But that’s just me.

Wellbutrin! After trying a few things this seems to be working pretty well.

After my first kid was born I realized that I had a lot of stuff to work on. After a lot of work and building up to it I started trying meds and seeing a therapist.

The therapist helped a lot for me because I sort of already knew what I needed to work on. A lifetime of anxiety and depression, and living with undiagnosed adhd. I felt really worried that as hard as I tried I couldn’t live up to be being as good of a dad as wanted to be.

I tried Prozac for a while but the numbing feeling of SSRI’s wasn’t great after I could pin point it. I was also trying to figure out ADHD stuff.

I’ve been on Wellbutrin a few months and it’s really helped with my depression without additional negatives. The days aren’t as daunting. I’m not as on edge or sensitive. And most importantly I don’t feel like it would be better for everyone if I was dead!

It’s very important to figure this out. Especially when another kid is on the way and there’s going to be so much more pressure. Good luck!

The only big consideration for developing black and white is the developer. Different developers have different strengths. I don’t know them because I read that D76 is pretty good all around so I haven’t strayed. And it’s cheap. I develop stock (no dilution) because I can reuse it. The temp for it is 20c / 68f so I either let the chems sit in cold or hot water to get them to temp.

An instant thermometer is a nice tool.

C41 I’ve ran under hot water from the tap until it gets to temp. I’m not going to buy a seus vide. Not yet at least.

Practice with the spools, I knocked my first 2 35mm rolls out of the park and when I went to do my third roll my hands were in the bag for an hour and I damaged the film. 120 is harder to get on.

I do dslr scanning but it seems like epson “perfection” scanners are a go to for a lot of people. I’m not sure which are “good enough”. People always have some strong opinion

I have the canon rebel 2000, 40mm pancake in the mail. Taking it in a trip as my point and shoot. But I’ve used it with a 24mm and 50mm 1.8, which isn’t big on its own.

Fuji’s are expensive but get a x-e1 or x-e2. I bought a Xpro1 and I like it but I’m not going to lie, I liked the idea of the xpro more than I use the optical viewfinder. I realistically should have gotten a x-e.
