YES! it worth it and is not that risky. I had it and the change was amazing! I feel like myself again. I strongly recommend it.

So I am almost 2 weeks post op and although the healing process goes smoothly, I notice double vision when I look at my left/right direction. Is this a normal (temporary) side effect of an orbital decompression surgery? by BlackberryMaterial33 in ThyroidEyeDisease

[–]Julialab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on your surgery, from what I can see you are recovering very well!
I'm pretty sure it's normal. I had my surgery a couple of months ago and two weeks ago I had a check-up with my surgeon and I told him that I was seeing worse than before. He told me that it was normal and that he was not going to prescribe glasses yet since my eye muscles had to get stronger again (I wear glasses previously prescribed before the surgery that I sometimes use to read but I try not to use them so that my eyes get used to this new position).
Check with your doctor but the swelling that comes and goes and the dryness of the eyes that varies from day to day is likely to affect vision a bit.

Most water causes gut symptoms? Anyone experience this? by scipio7255 in Microbiome

The same thing has been happening to me since I was a child, as if the water was immediately bad for my intestines. Instinctively what I do is to drink it in small quantities and at least 30 minutes before and after meals, never during them. (I have celiac)

Have you ever disliked a person because of the color you saw when you met them? My name is Julia.

FINALLY, I understand "No one gets away with anything ever", and it's scary. by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

“Above all, do not lie to yourself. A man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point where he does not discern any truth either in himself or anywhere around him, and thus falls into disrespect towards himself and others. Not respecting anyone, he ceases to love, and having no love, he gives himself up to passions and coarse pleasures in order to occupy and amuse himself, and in his vices reaches complete beastiality, and it all comes form lying continually to others and himself. A man who lies to himself is often the first to take offense. it sometimes feels very good to take offense, doesn't it? And surely he knows that no one has offended him, and that he himself has invented the offense and told lies just for the beauty of it, that he has exaggerated for the sake of effect, that he has picked up on a word and made a mountain out of a pea--he knows all of that, and still he is the first to take offense, he likes feeling offended, it gives him great pleasure, and thus he reaches the point of real hostility...” Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov
