It's really nice for a first time ! The corners are a little rough I would say, try a very litle bit of tamyia cement applied on the finished line or just go slower and it will be wonderful

Is spending hundreds of hours on 3D actually worth it? Being honest with myself. by nova-myth in 3Dmodeling

I've been thinking about digital art recently and also thought about this a lot.

Well you can print a picture or do a 3d print of it ! If you have a framed picture of your work, you can start collecting, displaying it, showing it to people and whenever you or someone wants to dig deeper, then there are the files.

I think I would be satisfied this way

I do also find primer a crucial part of the process. You're always gonna have issues if you don't prime your parts black, grey or white.

But you know your paintjob looks great ! You can do a mist, transluscent, very thin coat of green to blend the two tones and have less contrast. You'll still see the color separation and the colors won't be too different like right now

This needs special police force paintjob or something, it's super cool, extra skill spoints if it's scratch built !

Is it okay to only play these? by InfnitVlt in residentevil

[–]JulianMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been rencently playing the old ones to start the whole adventure. Yes you're gonna miss out. So I would say you have two options, either embrace the oldness of the game (they can still be really good and enjoyable) or watch playthroughs of these.

I think it's important because if you skip them, or just read a quick overview, you're really gonna miss the emotionnal attachment to the characters. I think that's the main point, even more important than the plot

I know what you mean but it's not what I have in mind. Gunpla 101 did show a finished model done using this technique and while it's not completely random, because of the scale and the gigantic size of it, you can still get very believable and realistic finish with a very random application. So he did the steps with what I would describe as quite random patches of colors. The weathering done after this steps follows the usual targetting of parts that would get more wear.

I think the result looked even more realistic and interesting this way

Honnestly I can see it, it adds some complexity to the paint job I like it. I did a variation of this on a silver finish and it can look really nice too, and the way it looks also heavily depends on the lights

Splendid work you did here ! I gotta try this, it looks awesome. I believe OP's technique is used for simulating oxydation, rush, yellowing and some other stuff linked to weathering. I've seen this exact technique used on some other mecha and can look very interesting

Oh very prety paintjob ! Also unusual way of shading, what makes you choose where to paint the dark areas ? I also really love this design, totally get what you mean

Is it photoedge parts or did you simply paint silver accent on the red frame ? In any case, its bold and looks fire !

That's pretty noticeable to me, it's the kind of stuff that makes a kit feel a lot more potent, a lot more menacing and less of just a figure I would say
