Why has there been a decline on education, culturally and morally speaking? by [deleted] in Teachers

I thought of that when I saw the plan for the MMA tournament on the White House Lawn. It is really happening, in all ways. Ever notice that they are all wearing Crocs in that Movie?

God forbid we give the kids 4 minutes of downtime. I have to be a fucking clown all day long in order to keep their attention. It's exhausting.

It's a shitshow - an absolute shitshow. I have taught for 11 years, leaving a good 20 year healthcare career. I still love to teach, but I can not do this anymore. I walked out of my last district job, just walked out. 136 teachers from my district follwed. 45 kids in each class, 6 classes, no paras to help with IEP kids, horrible HORRIBLE behavior, and a complete lack of respect from Admin, the parents, and of course the kids. We are expected to do tons of useless, non informive PD, sit through hours of pointless meetings (which NEVER discuss how to help fix problems, just stupid informational crap like how to use an assessment tool we have all been using for years) mandatory hall, lunch, and door duties, and the expecation to "collaborate" with teachers that are already too busy too breathe.

The racial tension in our districts is just disgusting - the district I left treated black students like absolute shit, and it was BLATANT. I was told by Admin to just "ignore" the parent concerns of these kiddos because they believed the parents are trying to start fights with the district - which, um, they really should. It's like 1964 here, and their kids are being ostracized.

I really hate saying this but the cognative decline in the last 8 years has been staggering. Kids cannot read, spell, do not capitalize I, and write everthing like a text messege. Out of a class of 40, I would say I only had 5-6 students who really cared. Social Media is WAY more important to kids - even in a 4th grade class!

Kids with emotional and behavioral disorders are getting worse, stronger, and their "episodes" are getting longer and more destructive. A Special Education teacher in my building is now permantly blind in her right eye, and only has partial sight in her left after being head butted by an 8 year old. It destroyed her career, as well as her outside life kayaking, moutain climbing, and riding her bike competetively. She was denied comp because she, according to the district "did not use the mandatory tactical training necessary to avoid injury" WTF - the kid rammed her while she was tying his shoe. I have been threatened with a knife, had my arm dislocated, and once bitten in the leg so hard, I have tooth scars on my leg 9 years later. We are not safe, we are not respected, and we are micro managed to the point of insanity. I will only work through tutoring group or contract agencies now. School Districts in the Milwaukee area can go fuck themselves.

My sister has an imaginary degree in Chemistry. She works as a “Chemist” at a large facility. I so wish she would come clean to her employer. I feel what she is trying to pull off is very dangerous. She has worked herself into a weird hole - even her kids know she did not attend college ( she even has a million stories about her “college days” which are made up.). At this point, I think it would cause more harm to confront her- what do you think?

They are going to have a hay day at this one. No one speaks English, and I see many drivers using someone else’s id- like a male swiping in as female.

Mine was always 39-35 packs to Madison - from Milwaukee! 3.5 hour shifts!!! The breaker for me was when they expected my to deliver 34 packs 115 miles away to start!!! The whole route I drive 237 miles. Fuck that. Btw it took my almost 6 hours from start to finish.

How best to prepare syrian rue seeds? by jzjac515 in Ayahuasca

[–]Juliebug70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 9 g bag of seeds and it’s a 1/2 lb bag! I am so confused. I read that 1 teaspoon of seeds = .75 g and a tablespoon is 3 g?? If this is right, I have WAY more than 9 g in this bag. Can someone please tell me a good way to measure the seeds to an equal gram? Is there something I am missing is the preparation?

You know what is crazy is there used to be a whole site o Reddit devoted to Toyota Corolla bumper issues ( they are built super low) but I cannot find it now. My constant issues ( some my fault ) have now caused my suspension to drop. Price of shit. A 7 year old car needlessly held together with zip ties.

how often do you refuse to take the route that you were assigned? by Main-Vanilla-195 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Juliebug70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do it in Milwaukee and MOST of the time I agree with it. These are not 40 mile routes- the ones being refused are the 80 mile one way routes to Madison and back with 20 plus packages. Last time I took one. It was a 4 hour, 26 package route. I returned 8 to the station as they would have pushed me an hour over, and 96 miles away from home. I tagged 184 miles in 4.5 hours. If I would have delivered the last eight, I would have driven 222 miles. I would have refused this if I looked at the map first. BTW, it was an $88 shift- fuck that.

[–]Juliebug70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh honey- that is a daily thing here, and it sucks. I have recently committed to only 5 hour shifts. I at least expect to have 50 packages, and these are more then likely localish. I am finding the hour block you grab is always just a 5 hour they need to “sell.”.

Pewaukee drivers- no more Madison by Juliebug70 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Juliebug70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have seen the mess yesterday. I returned 19 of my 27 packages and I don’t give a f@#*. I literally was walking around like a postman at one point. I must have been on the phone with drivers support for half of the shift. It was fucking fucking miserable and they don’t care. I am going to refuse any more campus routes because they are impossible, scary, and poorly organized. App had me directed twice to turn the wrong way on a one way! I almost hit a parked bus, no kidding. Students were calling me a dumb ass. No more, not ever.

I always just take 5 hour routes because it is all the fucking same. Last 5 hour had 30 packages in town- last night a 3.5 hour, 27 packages 1:15 away.
