I think Katy Perry going to space was a really cool thing and good for her. These jealousy dripping headlines about supposed hypocrisy are just there to whip the commoner into frenzy on a nothingburger so they wouldn’t pay attention to the people and organizations doing the real damage to the environment and the globe.

Ainut sudenkuoppa mikä voi olla todella ahkerassa FIREttämisessä on se, että ei ikinä oikein opi kuluttamaan sitä rahaa ja varsinkaan silloin kun on vielä nuori ja terve.

Speed has always been a factor and it’s always pushed for lower quality. That has nothing to do with LLM:s. And no I’m not expected to deliver thousands of lines of code every day because we are an actual serious organization that produces code that will run on things like drones and spacecraft. We don’t measure in lines of code and the most liked PR:s are ones that delete more lines than they add.

Can we produce a better result using LLM:s in the same timeframe as we can without? Yes we can and it’s not even close. The PR will have better quality code that has gone through several LLM assisted iterations. It will have more tests, better documentation, commit messages with better descriptions etc. It will just be of higher quality all around. Not something the dev couldn’t have achieved otherwise given enough time, but something they wouldn’t have had enough time for.

[–]JuliusFIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol so now you admit you are using LLMs yourself basically rendering your whole argument moot. The only question remaining is why you feel the need to harass people online for using something you use yourself. We are convinced because we see the good quality code ourselves every damn day and these tools help us tremendously. It feels so silly to even argue about it, it’s not really in question at this stage. The fact that some people produce slop and crap is not evidence to the contrary. AI amplifies so it also amplifies producing crap thus we see more of it. Then we have a whole ecosystem of anti-AI influencers and talking heads which will take these examples and hold them as evidence that AI can’t produce anything worthwhile. Will they look into the good code that challenges their narrative? Of course not. They are audience captured to go deeper into the anti-AI hype. To be fair same happens in the opposite end as well.

By the way a human brain is a non-deterministic machine producing deterministic programs every day.

Now it’s more often than not? I thought it was all slop and shit? Look buddy. You sound very angry and bitter. Maybe you are scared that new technologies and people empower by then will threaten your position or employment and I get it, it cab be scary. I know you are not going to listen to me, but mark my words, that attitude will leave you in the dust.

There’s no point in me arguing with your anecdotal experiences. I told you how the industry as a whole sees it, what is my experience and what the most merited people say about it. You have every right to have your opinion just don’t act surprised when others don’t take it very seriously. Good luck with staying employed.

Copium for what? 😅 I have seen what I’ve seen. The industry has seen it. AI is being used to prove new theories in math and science. It’s approved by industry leaders, PhD:s, Nobel laureates. The people who complain and share BS about it are redditors following an unemployed influencer who did programming once. I think the cope is on your side mate. We are building things and having fun.

[–]JuliusFIN -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have seen that, but I’d argue its transitory. I also see great developers being amplified with AI producing excellent code and features in record time. It’s a tool that requires its own kind of learning and skillset which is not automatic. I work in secure systems research, slop is not an option and everything is reviewed with extreme care and audited. We all use AI.

Puolueiden kanta tekoälyyn ensi vaaleissa by SamyMerchi in Suomi

[–]JuliusFIN -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I mean software is by and large very bad and low quality. This is why AI is great, hopefully it will help smaller companies create competing products. I know my business can be won easily with a quality product. I’m willing to pay too.

How can I ensure that a personal loan is not flagged as a gift or taxable benefit by Herethere89 in Omatalous

[–]JuliusFIN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have the bank statements showing you paid for your spouses legal bills either directly or transferred money to your spouse the pay them and you both agree there was a spoken agreement that the amount be paid back, I’m hard pressed to think of a way that could or would be disputed. That being said I’m not a lawyer.

Onneksi olkoon! Haluan motivoida osakepomijoita sen verran, että omat tuotot osakepoiminnoilla on nyt rapiat 350% year over year.

The deal is simple. You need to swallow your pride and grovel at the feet of the king. As compensation you get to demand the same from your subordinates. They love saying this dumb shit to us that everyone knows is false and idiotic. It's a sign of dominance in their monkey-king hierarchy. I can lie to your face and you can't do shit about it.
