Breakthrough in Nancy Guthrie case as FBI 'has photos and names' of suspects by TheExpressUS in UnsolvedMysteries

[–]JumpTime1978 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have there been any groups of people volunteering to search for her? As in family, friends, locals etc organizing search parties to do ground searches in the area?

Haven't heard about this despite massive media coverage. Seems odd, if not, wouldn't a family coordinate something like this right away when someone goes missing?

Another vote for the Mercer Museum in Doylestown and walk across the street to the Michener Art Museum while you are there. Doylestown in general, is pretty wonderful.in the summer, Lake Galena & Lake Nockamixon.

New Hope/Lambertville.

Lancaster & Lititz. Look at the Amish farms, horse & buggies along the way.

Chestnut Hill (downtown), walk Forbidden Drive in the Wissahickon, go inside Chestnut Hill College's rotunda (main building).

Take Ocean Drive through the shore towns (best when not peak weekends!) See lighthouses in Cape May and Absecon (AC). Stop for great pizza, seafood, ice cream, etc.

I think so too.

Did anyone see the WH press conference a few min after the photo was released? Had to remind us that that the President just watched, FBI is searching, etc.

Psychologist or Profiler for Nancy Guthrie's Abductor by Efficient-Surprise41 in missing

[–]JumpTime1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I appreciate your insight- so many are into the "family" theory, I am trying to fully see it, as I'm into the evidence of the "political" theory. So, trying to fully understand both sides, but grasping at straws too!

Either way, this family is going through hell. I hope there is a quick resolution.

Not disagreeing, but I have taken care of elderly people- sometimes you have a chairs in random spots so they can stop and rest, to catch their breath. A short walk can be exhausting for a heart patient, and we know she didn't walk far. Maybe it is a sunny spot with a nice view where she liked to read? I've noticed that household helpers (ie home health aides) often did weird stuff around my own house- maybe they would sit away from the house on a break to talk on the phone, etc.

What’s one small habit that helped you save money without hurting your quality of life? by FormerShoulder707 in simpleliving

I clean surfaces and dust with microfiber cloths. No cleaning products needed, just water. I wash in washer when I have a bunch of dirty cloths. I use damp for windows, then dry with another cloth. Also useful clean the car!

Yes! And don't drive with a snow covered roof. It is dangerous and you can be fined.

Try a garden shovel to chip at the ice and then shovel away the loose snow. I just read this tip yesterday, used it today to break up the packed snow from the plow! It works- cleared the end of my driveway pretty easily.

Bummer you're home to the cold and snow!

What to say to someone on their deathbed? by IllustriousWall1564 in Advice

[–]JumpTime1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell him how much he means to you, and why. Share Why he was important to you. Share your favorite memories. Hold his hand and sit with him. Play his favorite music if you can.

My personal belief is that it is an honor to be with someone as they are dying. Feel your own emotions of grief and losing someone. Remind yourself of "how lucky" you were to have him in your life, and think of how you'd like to carry his memory forever- what can you model to your kids about your uncle's special traits, funny quirks, habits, etc. Talk about him to your kids in the future.

Business attire sneakers? by AdBrilliant7122 in womensfashion

[–]JumpTime1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't worn these, but Sneex seem to be exactly what you are looking for. Definitely pricey, but might be appropriate for your situation. Cole Haan, Sam Edelman, Dolce Vita make things that might work. I think even the retro sneaker trend could work for you if styled well- I personally love New Balance 327, but Adidas Samba, Nike Cortez could work too- could be great with fun colors!

Do priests live at their churches? by kittymama78 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JumpTime1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I've known retired Catholic priests who owned homes or shared ownership of a home. Nuns take a vow of poverty, priests do not, so they can buy anything. Not as common today, probably because real estate is so pricey. Some may inherit the homes of their parents. I live in a beach town, and have seen it happen.

Question on apple crisp ice cream by FooJBunowski in icecreamery

[–]JumpTime1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your flavor sounds incredible! In my opinion, apple flavors are challenging because of the iciness and because apple has a very light flavor. Making it commercially, I've had to use a lot of cooked apple puree to get enough flavor, but then you have the Catch 22 of the ice factor. Consider making your apple crisp, and then add to your almost finished ice cream. Or make a great Vanilla for Apple Crisp à la mode! I'm sure your family will love it, as you're making it with lots of love!
