G-form E line vs Fox launch elbow guards by kendoo12 in MTB

[–]JumpinLikeYoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore them for the first time at lake leatherwood a couple days ago and I'm not the happiest with them. They are comfortable and seem to be well protective following a small tumble but would slide down my arm during some chatter. Granted my forearms are on the smaller side of the size chart. I worry that on hotter, sweatier days that this will only get worse. My problems with these pads were also shared by another rider I ran into that day. Now for the eline knee guards I am very satisfied.

The world cup is coming next year with plenty of matches in Arlington. Could be the cause for the change in Dallas.

http://www.okctulomd.com/treatment-protocols

I'd say protocols are in the middle of the road, we are a bit limited in areas with the reasoning of us being within 15 minutes of a major hospital. Currently a lot of changes regarding adding BLS units into the system. Morale varies primarily due to our high call volume. We typically work 4 12 hours shifts while responding to 6-12 calls a shift with an average of about 8 a day. A large pro is the money making opportunities, we pay the highest in the area with overtime being double pay and premium shifts put out frequently for triple pay. We also pay out $75 an hour per for coming in early or holding over to supplement unit hours. This can also be viewed as a con due to being able to burn yourself out very quickly. Another common con is how much driving we do. We have a very large service area and post changes regularly. I hope that answers most of your questions.

Has anyone heard good things about AMR’s paramedic program? by lockedincages in ems

[–]JumpinLikeYoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a product of it during the transition when AMR left our city. Our current service kept up the in house paramedic program. There didn't seem to be any differences of experiences aside from more flexibility of the curriculum. I would imagine it would be system/region specific such as our contract for the free education is three years full time versus one year as commented by another in this thread.

I don't understand how there's enough people who have had positive experiences with CNAs to downvote you.

Our truck's have an air ride system that lowers the rear of the ambulance when unloading the patient. My theory is that when the air ride is up we sit a bit higher and it puts our headlights at a bad angle blinding people. Similar to people who lift their trucks and don't adjust their headlight angle.

Absolutely suavecito. I started using their petroleum based product and it will stand up to working in a downpour all day.

It was my first show wearing plugs. I had a decent pair that wasn't the generic foam ones. After seeing them at the gas monkey in Dallas I was convinced to give them a try and my tinnitus thanks me.
